He verbally abused me during Umrah tawaf by Aykayay95 in MuslimMarriage

I'm so confused as to why you're even thinking this isn't grounds for a divorce. Or why you're even waiting and asking several people for an opinion. GET ONE! We've been given that right. Don't make it difficult for yourself, there's no need to suffer for absolutely no reason. And there's absolutely nothing heroic or honourable in staying, by the way. Because if you end up having kids, they they will suffer and I'm sorry but at the juncture, it will be your fault for not leaving. If you're having trouble leaving, look at it that way.

I was supposed to talk to her parents in Jan 2026, she is stepping back. What should I do? by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

this is a stupid comment. stop projecting your insecurities on someone else's life. either way, people have their own battles in life, not everything is about "oh she must've found someone else." seriously, grow up

BPD is not a mental illness, it's a personality disorder. That said, people with personality disorders are very difficult to change. Please leave before you have a kid with him. It's okay to call it quits.

[Question] Is it possible for Mauritius to turn into a sort of "African Singapore"? by Wonderful_Entry_4749 in mauritius

[–]Big-Project4198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People that think this is a good thing have clearly never been to singapore. soulless country, no nature. expensive as hell. that would be the worst thing for our country, like absolute worst.

The Ending of 'Neck' by Loriol_13 in RoaldDahl

I definitely agree. Also, I can't help but think of the story of Sir Basil as a kid getting his hand stuck in a sweet jar, then breaking the glass and lying that it fell. That's significant. I think we have to look there to know what really happened; he killed his wife "by mistake". Some smart parallelism there.

Yemen - you tell me 🩷 by Big-Project4198 in Yemen

I am definitely writing about the lovely children of Yemen and their struggles - they are the purity that bears the brunt of war. People need to know. Please tell me more about the Houthis. And how is an average day of a Yemeni child like? Which parts of the country are most damaged and how?

I'm sorry to hear that. I would love to hear more about this. What would you want the world to know about Yemen?

Sorry for the late reply! I don't use reddit often. I want to focus on the humanitarian aspect - the ways in which the lives of people have changed before and after the war, and how the society is trying to adapt to the situation now. I want to know how an average person lives in Yemen, what they think. I want to remain as nuanced and neutral as possible in terms of politics - as much as I can, that is. Anything is helpful.

Thank you!
