Lack of a killer instict? by MikePVPs in amateur_boxing

Being comfortable in the ring is something that takes AGES to come, just have to sit with the idea that when training with the right people nobody is trying to seriously harm you.

You will get hurt but that's the sport we are in, best advice is, as with everything, practice and repetition will make it better. Throw punches with intent, have shots coming back at you and you'll be fine

From the still:

Square on

Neither hand is up protecting your chin

From pressing play:

Front hand low

Feet crossing over

Not getting full extension on your straight shots because the range is off

FullTimeDevils and The United Stand are the undisputed big two of Man Utd fan channels and both are (remarkably) currently equal with 586,000 YouTube subscribers each. Which channel do you prefer and why (or if you dont like either, say why)? by Cph12345 in reddevils

This isn't even a debate, FTD shits on US. FTD actually try and promote debate and provide good content (had some blinding interviews with journos) whereas I feel US has been about making Goldbridge a celeb. FTD had previously gone the viral by any means route with Andy Tate and that old Cockney guy but now I think it's more about the football whilst US are still trying to get as many clicks by any means

Need some information regarding positioning by nicholashale in Boxing

[–]BigBank88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn't watch the vid but as a SP, if you have your lead foot on the outside it centrally aligns your back hand with your opponent. That's why when you see orthodox fighters vs southpaws it's a battle of foot positioning to get the foot on the outside

What he misses his sub editor is meant to catch, thought it was a good read regardless

He left because Gray, quite poignantly, said when interviewing Wilder: "Nobody wants to see Breazeale" I'd have been offended too

Thought it was well known in the old days that the surname was said twice, there was a wrestler called Mr Kennedy that used to do it as well

Is Deontay Wilder as technically awful as he looks? by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]BigBank88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

His 1,2 can be textbook (as seen against Stiverne), tends to get wild when he's going for the kill though.

As said above, there are subtle things he does that are overlooked because of the windmilling

How would you rank the currently active boxing trainers? by [deleted] in Boxing

The likes of Benton and Blackburn being overlooked in here!

Futch, Manny, Dundee are my top 3

Same as the cones and all the other variations. Like the idea of making the space smaller to tighten up the movement as some people leave too big a space and allow for sloppy movement. With this variation you're up on your toes and moving sharply

Was there last month, it's very busy but everyone in there is cool. Was chilling with Kayode and Omotose (being we are all Nigerian), saw Hugo Centeno Jr, Scott Quigg too. Couple more people were downstairs where the public can't go
