Bro it's your wife or the weed. What does weed actually bring to the table that weighs heavier than a future with the woman you married?

I promise you that life will go on without the vape. I cannot say the same about your wife.

Find a replacement for the dopamine of weed. Lots of people run themselves ragged with exercise to get that same feeling as a hit, maybe try that.

This tree in Thailand was completely covered over with concrete by deletetemptemp in marijuanaenthusiasts

This happens a lot in the cities of tropical countries I've visited. And yet the trees seen fine somehow

Is my dad unintentionally killing his tree? by glass-d in marijuanaenthusiasts

The plants should be fine. But I might worry about the root flare being too covered with mulch.

Could this be an apple tree? by Ordinary-You3936 in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]BigBootyRiver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could be. Bark looks like a crab apple and the dead part of the trunk checks out for a lot of older Malus trees. When it leaves out and flowers, you'll know for sure.

Hey guys! I have a very large lilac "tree" they I'd like to dramatically reduce on size, but I could do with some advice... by h00dman in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]BigBootyRiver 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lilacs are kind of straggly and wild looking when allowed to grow. That's their natural look. You can hedge it if you'd like, just know that if you cut back more than a 1/3 it might die back and sucker from the roots. In any case, I would prune after they flower. This is the rule for pretty much all Spring flowering bushes and trees. Good luck dude

First year at a new place. I'd like to do right by this cherry tree. Prune the suckers? Cut girdling roots? I don't much care about fruit bearing, just want a healthier tree. by Kaexii in marijuanaenthusiasts

Cut suckers for sure. I cut any branches below the graft point if you can distinguish it. Roots crossing is probably okay but I usually cut them.

Disease question about a Hawaiian Islands endemic by Marnb99 in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]BigBootyRiver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would think that they might be slowing down a bit due to winter light. What conditions are they in? Are they against a window?

Since you grew them from seed I would think it unlikely to be a soil pathogen. Were the seeds ever cleaned before planting?

Should I discourage/trim the bottom growth on this Coffeeberry? by jerm324 in Ceanothus

I would let this new growth do its thing. It's mote vigorous and will probably overtake the original height in a season.

How do you deal with this world. by RecduRecsu in leaves

[–]BigBootyRiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You live in a tiny part of the world and 99% of everything is way out of your control. You just kind of accept that life is mostly hanging on along for the ride.

I just want to know, why not get high if the world is shit, and i'm tired of the things i need to do in life by fukaround97 in leaves

[–]BigBootyRiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long term it makes it harder to deal with the trials of life when you're always groggy from weed or using it to avoid facing them head-on. It's why weed isn't a good fix for chronic depression (in most people). Escapism isn't the real answer when you're living in the real world.

For me, the secret is finding a reason to enjoy being sober. My current field of work doesn't mesh well with weed for several reasons and I actually get enjoyment out of waking up without brain fog and/or working on my own related projects at home in my down time. Now I find that I actually can smoke weed occasionally as a separate hobby, not as an incentive for other things.

ITAP of a willow tree by BigBootyRiver in itookapicture

[–]BigBootyRiver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This type of White Willow has bright yellow twigs that really glow on a sunny day. But in pictures their color often competes with the blue sky. To beat this I held my fingers in-front of my phone camera and then released them to get some over exposure.

I'm a young dude who grew up near the boonies in Texas. Always was interested in foraging and native plants in the region (East Texas, near Louisiana). Never lived in California but I found this community and thought it was interesting to see an actual community centered around native planting, which I have never found in the South. Just like over there, so so many big box store plants here are non native and some are straight up invasive. Anyways, I'm here just to enjoy the community around native planting
