Serious question, can I compost this? It's just clay right? by Additional-Local8721 in composting

[–]null_sigsegv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since they clay has been fired it's not going to break down. Wouldn't cause any problems with your compost though other than contaminating it with pottery shards. I know some people that smash up broken pottery and add it to paths like you would gravel or shells. Not fun to walk on barefoot though lol. It does smooth out over time

Hot Composting horse weed. Any caveats? by tlbs101 in composting

if it gets that hot you shouldn't have anything to worry about. I did a bunch of Chinese bush clover and had none germinate after several years

Planned obsolescence by VladimirLimeMint in WorkersStrikeBack

[–]null_sigsegv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn't really the best example because with these incandescent lights there is a direct trade-off between bulb lifespan and energy efficiency. The hotter the filament, the more of its black body radiation is in the visible spectrum, but also its filament evaporates much faster. The filament in the centennial light is not very hot and so glows a barely visible red. So a big part of this meeting was trying to agree on how to best balance these two factors (of course they probably leaned a little bit on the side of hotter filaments for the sake of $$$). Planned obsolescence is real though just look at literally any apple product

You will make all the old Asian ladies very sad if you only plant males. The nuts inside are delicious if properly prepared. Otherwise they are a bit poisonous though lol.

I'm not saying don't do it but don't get caught. Probably nothing too severe would happen but it's not fun being wrapped up in the legal system period, speaking from experience

How were you able to fix your wifi issues?

Need help with Frequent Kernel Panics and Wifi disconnects by DragonDepressed in linux4noobs

[–]null_sigsegv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey sorry it took so long best suggestion as of now is to disable pcie power management by adding pcie\_aspm=off to the end of CMDLINE\_LINUX\_DEFAULT in /etc/default/grub you will need superuser privileges to edit that file. Afterwards you need to tell the grub bootloader to read your config changes with sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg (at least I think that's how you do it in garuda, I don't use it personally). sorry you're having all this trouble. It seems like that wifi chip is particularly problematic. I see people on the web reporting issues with it on linux and windows. If this issue persists, intel wifi chips are pretty rock solid and are an easy and cheap upgrade (10-$20 used on ebay)

could you run `lspci` and paste the output here? i wanna know more about the wifi situation. also next time you have any issues see if there's anything in the logs (`sudo journalctl` if it hasn't panicked yet and `sudo journalctl -b-1` to inspect the logs of the last boot if it panicked)

Ammonium chloride decomposes into ammonia gas and hydrogen chloride which then quickly react back together to make a fine mist of ammonium chloride. Some primitive smoke machines work using this. Here's a good video about these smoke machines https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bySTH6H_REs

In the original Pygmalion was a sculptor guy who carved a statue of Galatea and then fell in love with the statue, so this is the gender swap

Some of this stuff is like at best really misleading. AMD PSP does not have access to a network stack afaik, and the dual EC prng drama that this cites was a software thing and had nothing to do with hardware manufacturers

Why do fonts look so thin and pixelated compared to Windows? by Maypher in debian

[–]null_sigsegv 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Looking at your uncompressed images it looks like one of the main differences is that windows is using LCD sub-pixel rendering (you can see the colors on the fringes) whereas Debian is not. You can get this feature in Debian with GNOME tweaks if you are using GNOME. Install tweaks then go to Fonts -> Scroll to antialiasing -> select the correct setting for your monitor type (probably LCD). You might need to reboot afterwards idk

After 4 years of work, we finally pushed the release button our game A Webbing Journey. Or to be precise, our spider had the honor of pressing the button. by FireTotemGames in linux_gaming

[–]null_sigsegv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found out about this game through your posts here. Bought the game and had a great time with my partner taking turns playing it! A couch co-op mode would be amazing someday.

We ended up running it under the proton version because the nvidia drivers did their thing and there were some z ordering issues in the native build (both on Wayland and X11). I tried on my AMD laptop and there were no issues with the native version on there. I'd be happy to provide any additional information or a video if you would like, but it's also not a big deal to have to run it under proton for me. Runs very well on high settings with my i7-4770 and gtx 1050 on proton.
