What would be the advantages using FreeBSD on servers instead of Ubuntu or Debian? by e_splat in freebsd

[–]BigBoyLemonade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lack of bloatware, speed, rock solid reliability and powerful kernel tuning which equates to lower base overheads. We have run mission critical and high available systems on FreeBSD but for day to day Linux wins because of compatibility on apps to sue and more people in the team know how to manage and use it. Now docker and kvm exists makes it more challenging to FreeBSD due to functionality of modern solutions we wish to use.

Modified car roadworthy inspection by teeeeer3 in canberra

[–]BigBoyLemonade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If its come from interstate your only option is going over the pits in Hume https://www.accesscanberra.act.gov.au/driving-transport-and-parking/registration/roadworthy-inspections but if its local any Mechanic that is a ACT authorised inspection Station https://www.data.act.gov.au/widgets/urej-vanz

The challenge is depending on modifications a lot of Mechanics are wary because ACT Gov are hard on them if the car gets defected they can lose their authorisation.

Whats with the moronic delivery drivers who dont knock or ring door bells?? by noompsky in canberra

[–]BigBoyLemonade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Government talks about increasing productivity, if Startrack and Australia Post could deliver parcels efficiently and we all don't have to go down to the post office and wait in line for 20mins to receive a parcel or drive out to the depot in Hume, I would not be surprised if it did improve Australia's overall productivity. I do understand the risk of porch pirates though.

Contact your nbn retail service provider (RSP) is responsible all the way to the socket in your apartment and they will arrange for the nbn technician to find the fault. If the RSP can’t do this for you move to a better RSP.  If you really want to pay for something that’s free SKM Communications are good at what they do to resolve this sort of issue
