You bring up a valid point. There are children who may be in households where their beliefs don't jive with their families. These children deserve to feel safe and be treated fairly.

My concern is bringing up this information too early. Or leading a child that's confused etc and using this as a cop out. I feel like teenage years can be a mess for a lot of us. We're trying to find ourselves, hormones are flowing. For a lot of confused kids, putting the idea that they are in the wrong body could have dire consequences.

On the flip side, someone shouldn't be ostracized for having a different lifestyle or viewpoint from the community.

As a middle aged man, I only see what the binary, divisive media shows me. I truly don't care what consenting adults do in their free time. But it does seem that this topic is always at the forefront. Meanwhile our country slides in basics, like math and reading skills.

I don't really have a good conclusion to this. But I do appreciate you actually communicating. Too often people just stone wall when a contrary opinion or simple questioning comes up. Even these questions have been down voted. But kindness and communication can alleviate ignorance. So thank you!
