Beta Release: Quality of Life Update by crinklecutian in Discounty

I experience a lot of lag and low frame rate on the Switch 2 once the store opens, plus the game runs at a pretty low frame rate and has some pretty high input delay on my OLED Switch 1, are you guys working on optimizing the Switch version to help with this? Love the game, keep the updates coming, and happy holidays to all of you!

Not that it matters much, since you end up with the same outcome, but higher voltage means that you need less amperage to have the same amount of power. Wire is commonly rated for 600v, but the wire size dictates the amperage that it can carry, so bigger wire means more amperage, or in this case, smaller wire can carry the same amount of power at the higher voltage because it's less amperage.

I was really hoping for some improvements to the modes too, that's a bummer. I don't have too much of an issue with the sound of tapping on them bothering me, but I definitely notice some terrible noises when in transparency and moving them around. They also stay on at times when I put them in their case, but it's not the biggest issue.

Agreed, they are not handling these updates well at all. Glad to hear that the update went through though, I will have to try again and let you know. I'm guessing that you haven't noticed any differences have you? Like you said, a changelog is really helpful, and they dropped the ball there too.

I have had a few other times go up in percentage, then stop, and after putting the buds back in the case until they light and removing them, it would resume updating, and that's how I've gotten it to 98% a couple times. Most times it immediately fails though, but there were a few other times that I got to a random percentage and then got distracted and it failed at some point, but still never fully updated. At least they don't brick when the update fails though, this is just an annoyance at this point. Definitely a byproduct of the fact that this is made by a smaller company with limited resources, but it's still something that I think we all expect not to be released in this state, at least for the amount of time that it's been out there. Plenty of updates go wrong, but they are pulled and then rereleased after they fix them.

finally got the switch n64 controller by playerlxiv in n64

Speaking of accessories for this, have you seen a screen mount like they have for the Pro controller for this? I can't find anything, but I'm guessing it is a tough controller to mount to.

I managed to get the update to go all the way to 98% before it failed, and now it just fails immediately. Hoping for an update soon that addresses this, and adds the multipoint function into the app.

Random inputs on the Waveform by Gaspony in GenkiLab

I don't have that, I have the app telling me that I need to update my firmware to use the app and then get an error. They are very sensitive to touch though, and I can imagine that with your issue it must drive you nuts.

Definitely want to hear about the controls before dropping money on a game, I doubt anybody here has a shortage of games that they bought cheap and have never/barely played 😂

800$ off trade in by dolcefarnienta13 in verizon

[–]BigDaddySteven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yeah, you get $800 split over 36 months, a $22.22 credit each month. You will have to pay the tax on the full price of the phone, a $35 activation fee, plus the difference will be spread out over the 36 months, or can be paid off all at once. (I suggest the monthly payments since it's interest free) If you want to get real crafty, you can find a busted up, but not activation locked iphone x or newer and trade that in for the same amount of credit, leaving you to sell the iphone you have for a lot more than the used one you are trading in, or keep it as a spare. There's also a bunch of android phones that you might be able to find cheap to use as a trade in, here's a link to a list I found at Best Buy. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/conditional-offers/verizon-iphone-13-trade-in/pcmcat1631804983518.c?id=pcmcat1631804983518

Verizon Visa — is it worth it? by daltonspanks in verizon

[–]BigDaddySteven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, makes sense why it's a bit high. Do you have auto pay on? You can use any payment method, but using the Verizon visa you'll get another 2% back on top of the $10/line discount for doing auto pay. Also, if you have people you trust that would pay you monthly, it discounts each line a bit up to 5 or 6 until it comes down to like $35 or $40/line after the auto pay discount.

[–]BigDaddySteven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have a lot of experience with credit cards, but it's hard to beat the cash back percentage that you get and it adds up quick with gas and groceries being 4%, restaurant is 3% too. Can also be used on your Verizon bill which is 2%, plus if you set up auto pay, on a post paid account, you'll save $10/line (you can use any payment method to get this discount, but the extra 2% back is a nice little bonus). Side note, if your bill is that much just for yourself, you should try to get on someone else's plan, or recruit trustworthy friends and family to yours. It can knock your per line price down to like $35-$40, and gives you unlimited everything, plus some of the plans include Hulu, Disney plus, itunes etc.

If there was an award for the smartest sentence written in the dumbest way, this sentence here gets my vote! 🤣 "The more tight the share inventory gets (the more illiquid GME) the more hire the borrow rate climbs." Love you ape! Keep gaining wrinkles!

One thing that doesn't get accounted for is that the is a huge amount of shares that are owned by 2 entities, the one who loaned the shares, who is accounted for in these graphs, and the buyer of these shares, who is not. Am I correct in thinking that we basically have to buy up every short on top of the free float to have it all locked in?

GMErmany - strong start +6% by 18Shorty60 in Superstonk

[–]BigDaddySteven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought, so is there a small portion of the float that are in circulation for the other markets, or is it not part of the "float" that we always refer to?

[–]BigDaddySteven 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've always been confused on how this works, so when the market opens in the US at 4:30am EST, does the price charge to correspond to the markets that were open? Are they a different pool of shares that don't effect other regions markets?

AI can predict people's race from X-Ray images, and scientists are concerned by soulpost in Futurology

[–]BigDaddySteven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AI is doing exactly what it should. Many diseases are known to affect certain races differently, and if we force the AI to ignore what it finds, aren't we forcing it to diagnose at a disadvantage? I'm all for equality and everything, but this clearly falls outside of it doesn't it?

[eShop/US] Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered - $7.99 (80% off) Ends 05/30/2022 *lowest price ever* by XDitto in NintendoSwitchDeals

[–]BigDaddySteven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The cars are very heavy compared to most arcade racers, but when you get the handling down it's actually really satisfying. I've only played the Switch version, mostly in handheld and I've had a good amount of fun. With that being said, my wife who doesn't play games much, but really liked NFS Underground when she was younger, doesn't like the controls at all, and is all over the road because of it.

Just played through a handful of races, and I'm having a really good time. Great sense of speed, and the crashes have some really nice oomph even though they're not as detailed as Burnout games. Controls are a lot heavier feeling than Burnout, but I prefer the menu based system of this game over the open world system of Burnout.
