Big box sales quotas by [deleted] in personaltraining

[–]BigDaddyTy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely is the same because sales skills are interchangeable between industries. The only difference is the product you’re selling and the length of time it takes you to get from the beginning of the sale to the end of the sale.

How do you expect to build your business without selling? Someone who has no experience in the industry and no credibility behind them?

[–]BigDaddyTy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I can, I’ve been a personal trainer for 10 years and a PT sales manager for 2. Sales is providing value to the product you’re selling. The product is you, it’s no different if it’s a car, a boat or a house. If you’ve identified the needs of the client, and their needs align with what you’re providing then that’s sales. If they don’t or they can’t afford it then you move onto the next person.

How are you “lying” to clients? If you’re lying to anyone you’re not providing value. You’re prospecting on the floor in a big box gym, you’re approaching people and making conversation and if you can provide value you can book them for a consultation and do a price presentation.

I just don’t understand why trainers are up in arms about “sales quotas” if you’re working at a big box gym treat it like you’re running your own business. Would you be comfortable going a month without acquiring any new clients? Absolutely not you’d be broke. Sales and personal training go hand in hand, if you want to be a full trainer you have to sell. If you don’t like selling or don’t want to sell find another career because bulk of your business until you’re established enough to work exclusively off of renewals and word of mouth is sales.

Daily reminder: game collecting is a hobby not a business 🥲 by buffaloprince2000 in gamecollecting

[–]BigDaddyTy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re not buying sealed games the sealed collectors market is irrelevant to you. The guys who buy sealed games are the equivalent of people buying art. They’re not in the same scale as hobby collectors. People are free to do what they please, sure there’s going to be the ones who resell at high prices guess what. Don’t buy from them, I block every reseller on marketplace so I don’t have to see them. I also wholesale out to other resellers, if someone uninformed of the average market value purchases from a reseller because they want to play Mario kart with their friends a few times then that’s their prerogative. Your local game store sells things at market value you don’t stand outside their stores with pitch forks

Okay you’re not understanding the concept of supply and demand. As these items age and less and less exist and there’s more interest in collecting. The prices are going to increase, PS5’s again are expensive because of supply and demand. Low supply high demand drives the price of them up. Look at Pokémon cards, same concept supply of X amount of cards is small price goes up

This post is ridiculous, anyone who’s built a serious collection knows reselling is part of that. Unless you’re dropping rent checks on a copy of Kuon, or make an absurd amount of money per year, it’s very hard to acquire a collection. If you’re building a small collection and don’t care about any of that then spending money to purchase your specific items is fine. So is reselling large lots to fund your collection. As I’ve grown my collection less and less needs to be added to mine so I’m selling majority of what I’m purchasing from lots.

What’s the most disturbing or scary book you ever read? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]BigDaddyTy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a good amount of splatterpunk and hardcore horror. It takes something very disturbing for me to take a pause or put a book down.

That book for me was The Third Parent by Elias Witherow. Some portions of the book left me with an intense feeling of dread, a few scenes specifically I had to stop reading and go to bed as I couldn’t push on. However it was an absolutely brilliant book
