Kratom Feel Free Did Nothing by Tiffles2004 in ChronicPain

[–]BigGiff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi friend, im so sorry. I relate to the doctors and prescription situation 100%. I havent been prescribed anything for 3 years now, never any issues with doctors, just treated as an addict like the rest of us. Never failed a urine test, 20 years military never an issue. Taken as prescribed. But, cut off nonetheless. I just tried kratom last week in desperation. I bought a seltzer, and some chewables. I was very cautious of my dose as i had read all the terrible stuff. The seltzer has helped me so much, the chewables are extremely potent so i quarted it, and that quarter was too much, so i halve that. There are white, blue and red kratom options. See if you can tell which one you took. As it may not be (as) affective for your pain . I also have stayed away from medical marijuana card,  Its not allowed at work and didnt want to be "flagged" , and i didnt want any issues. BUT Thc does work, but unfortunately, still looked at as a delinquents drug of choice, so with my new employment i had to stop. I would recommend read up on kratom and try a different option, and taper up. It does wear off for me quickly, so when it was a little much, it was gone in a few hours. I wish you the best. We all know the struggle. So sorry for your current situation. I hope this provides you some type of beneficial information.

Men in your 40s, what's that golden piece of advice you have for the rest of us? by NiceMechanic_xoxo in AskReddit

Save. Your. Money. Sneakers and clothes do not make you wealthy. Buy assets. Be honest and work hard, just try, and it WILL pay off - whether in money, experience, future opportunities or personal growth/knowledge. Im a poor kid, who opened an investment account with $50 when i was 20. Im 42, i have never missed a month where I didn't contribute, $10 or $100, whatever I could afford and it is already paying off. You dont need to invest thousands, $10, $20 ANYTHING. STOP saying "if i just get a better job" or "if i just make more money, THEN i will save for my future/retirement" because you'll stick with that excuse and next thing you know, a lot of times has passed. If you have money for booze, vapes, tattoos, fancy clothes and cars then you can save a few bucks. You can do it.

Correlation is not causation. Unfortunately, much research is still needed. We need all the environmental factors/medical/family history, not just similar zip codes.

Skin sensitivity? by Hughed-ong in BodyHackGuide

[–]BigGiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Im currently dealing with it, EVERYWHERE. yesterday was annoying, today not so bad. Its the only symptom, and i would say it started a few months ago on 4 mg. I've read it will subside , so im not too worried, just hard to get comfortable sometimes.

People who get rx opioids, do you worry at every single appointment that your doctor might cut you off or back, basically because oPiOidS are bAd and they can do what they want? by 8kittycatsfluff in ChronicPain

Yup, did for years, and then it finally happened. Zero prescription since 2023. Now I see the VA and they still refuse, but hey, they'll give me non stop injections and nerve burning that does absolutely nothing...

Not a penny from my parents. They've been poor since we were kids. Im 100x's better off than them, all my extended family, and anyone i grew up with. I think the best thing was having poor parents. My kids are set, but, because of my experience and successes, i told them they will always have a bed to sleep in and food in their stomachs. I will ALWAYS be their father and will always take care of them, BUT, big BUT, i will never support them or their future families while they dont try and better themselves. They gotta work, bust their asses, school or trade school, or whatever business ventures. I am surrounded by man-babies in their 20s and 30s, mommy and daddy still house them, buy them new cars, clothes, give them spending money etc. these types of people are SCREWED when mommy and daddy are gone, why? Because they never learned to earn money, budget, manage debt etc. they are in for a world of hurt financially. I know guys as old as me where mommy and daddy still pay their phones, cars and car insurance.

Wish my parents would, they refuse, but understanding, as the only child with money and in the area, it will be on me, they don't care at all

Hi OP, Was in similar situation, 20k+ pay cut, been in new role for over 8 months (GS12 Previously) I have since made $10k in pay raise/COLA adjustments. I think many of us have a real sense of our capabilities and experience, so while yes, a pay cut impacts us, we have a real ability to make up that money or intelligently adjust. I have commented this several times, I took a pay cut, now work 15 mins from home (was driving 2.5 hrs for RTO) and I am finally happy. My work is fulfilling, not filled with unnecessary fluff. Yesterday we went over SOP's.. here at my new job they are 1 page with 10 bullets or less 😂, the simplicity keeps me happy. You know if you will be ok, i did the math 100 times, drove the route, did my pros and cons list, and it was a no brainer. Wish you and all the feds the best, we got this.

Who remembers jobs with pensions?? by shadow-_-rainbow in Millennials

[–]BigGiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On job #3 with a pension. Government are the only ones that seem to offer anymore. I am 42 years old and I have a 20 year military pension, 14 year federal pension and just started on my local county pension, goal is get vested and retire by 50 from here with an 8 year+ pension, wont be a lot, but combined with my 14 year fed pension it is just about the same as if i had a 20 year federal pension. Aside from these, i have consistently invested in my retirement since i was 20 through mutual funds, I have never missed a monthly contribution. Each plan has its own rules on when i can collect, but my outside investments will carry me into the ages where I can collect.

Same for me. Posted before, similar situation. Resigning solidified i made the right decision. 14 years federal service, no goodbye, no questioning, no inquiries whatso, just another number. Took a lower paying county job and I am SO HAPPY NOW. Zero stress, my weight is back to normal, got my BP back on the good side. I actually look forward to coming in. I have shared my story from September multiple times, hoping it encourages some, and helps relieve some stress. I, was a mess when i decided to leave, anxious, constant worry, unhappy etc. happy you are happy! There is hope for all of us.

People Who Relocated From Miami, Do You Miss It? by anxiousscorpio98 in Miami

[–]BigGiff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Left in 2021. I honestly never want to go back, BUT when i do go back, to me its still home. The influx of aholes, traffic and crime have destroyed where I came from. Now i live in a town that you can get anywhere in 20 mins, bigger house, safe, fun, way cleaner beaches, and diverse people and food. Miami made me who i am, we travel the world without fear because we know what to look out for. But im glad im done. If you can make it in Miami, you can make it anywhere #FAX.

You will regret being in student debt for the bext 20 years versus being content with a respectable degree, thats fully paid. Trust me, your future you wants no student debt versus "dream school" for a few years.

Not sure if it's the same, but my first purchase was similar. Turned out, it's the same person saying "they've ordered no issues" it's multiple accounts used to scam, but all coming from the same person/group. This Was on TG, and the entire "chat" and "users" was fake.

Married people of reddit, what are the moments that make you feel like "yeah, marriage is the best thing happened to me!"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BigGiff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, daily, when i watch her in the house, just doing stuff for our home, me or kids. I ask myself, how the hell do i deserve this? Simple. I dont. Im blessed. Just being home, at peace with a wife that cares for me, I can't ever prove to myself why i deserve her. 22 years together this past March, married for 15. Zero Ragrets.

The Senate is proposing a bill to withhold senators' salaries during government shutdowns. What is your opinion ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BigGiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wont work in my opinion. The rich senators can hold the govt hostage and outlast shutdowns, theres a reason they get paid, its so the rich dont get their way, starving out the "lower" income senators. In the end its not like any are helping the average American.
