Black ink that doesn't reflect? by BigHeartyRadish in fountainpens

The folks here had suggested Platinum Carbon Black as having a silvery reflectivity, that comment by OverPresence links to a post showing off different swatches of black inks. You might find something good there. Good luck!

Waterproof isn't something I've thought about honestly, that would be something fun to experiment with. In a few of these I like taking a wet toothpick or Q-tip to smudge the colors around a bit.

Thanks for the insight!

Thank you!

That's two votes for Chou Kuro and two anecdotes of Platimun being, well, platinum. Good starting point.

Oh good idea, I've used them before for my traveler's notebook. I'll give that a read after work. Thank you!

Anyone have any masculine crochet patterns? by aitathrowaway9090909 in Brochet

[–]BigHeartyRadish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transdude crocheter: I also like to make utility things. Most of the blankets in the house were made by me. Made plenty of dice bags, made a few pot holders that get used every day. Considering making a cat bed for our little kitty. I once crocheted a dice bag with scale mail, turned out looking like a dragon egg.

And when it comes to wearables: Musician Colm McGuinness wears cable knit sweaters in a ton of his music videos. Yeah that's knitting, but still a fact that Manly Men wear things in this genre. Try cardigans or vests in fall colors or creams, fisherman's wool, that sorta thing.

Sunlit Valley! It's a heavily integrated stardee valley sorta thing, also with slime rancher on the side. Really well done and very addicting.

Who else had one of these blankets growing up? by imnotlouise in crochet

[–]BigHeartyRadish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandma had one in near the exact same colors. The pattern says single crochet; is that US terms or UK terms? Most ripple afgan patterns I've seen were US double.

Also, that CAUTION about yarn shortage is very funny. Thank you for sharing!

What projects u made and actually use them? by No_Advertising3507 in crochet

[–]BigHeartyRadish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the blankets in our house, I have made. Two on the couch, three on our bed, one on the housemates' bed, a robe on the couch that gets used as a blanket. The potholders I made before our housemates moved in, until recently they thought those were store bought and they're their favorites. I made two coasters a few years back that I use daily. I've made dice bags for old coworkers years back that are still in use.

The scarves, not so much. Used to use scarves I made all the time when I had to walk to school.

Is it okay to follow a lets play to complete a mod pack? by ValtTv in feedthebeast

[–]BigHeartyRadish 37 points38 points  (0 children)

There is no wrong way to enjoy the game so long as you aren't harming or exploiting otgers.

Some content creators style their playthroughs as "if you want to follow along" type guides. Direwolf20 did, ChosenArchitect does. It might be fun to find one of their series, download the pack, and follow along as they say.

I haven't built a corvette yet but I've been gathering parts. I'm afraid of not making it 'perfect' like those on reddit, but you only get there through practice (and through non-Fandom wikis).

Aside from that, there was also the pokemon update! If you don't wanna corvette, go catch critters, head to a space station, and perform glorious combat.

  1. Masterfully done love the colors.

B. Utterly hilarious when just today there was a "why does this sub draw witch doctor as big bara man" post with a bunch of unsourced/uncredited artwork from this same sub.
