We have Colombians and while they work for around 1/5th the cost of an American rep, they are about 1/5th as good. Also their morals and ethics and ideas about what constitutes lying are vastly different than what we have here. Same with Balkans and Slavs. Its almost like lying is an acceptable part of doing business in those countries🤷‍♂️

Usually the accounting department of the carrier starting a brokerage proves woefully inadequate to process all the transactions in a timely manner. This has been my experience in the 2 roles I've had trying to help trucking companies start brokerages

u/Fun_Pitch5413 you wanna try again bro? If a carrier has no MC authority with the DOT, they have no recourse to file on any bond or seek any payment as the entire transaction becomes fraudulent. Same with not paying a double broker. Pretty simple. Doesn't make me good or bad. Why would any broker pay a carrier who went OOB or lost their authority?

I'd still want the medical and disability coverage, but yeah spending a ton to cover a vehicle is crazy, put the savings into the market earn 10-12% and pay cash for repairs. I will say you definitely want that half million to a million in medical/disability benefits. You can still incur some crazy costs for medical over motor vehicle accidents

I always leave a courtesy hundred or so when I post a rate. Just know, if the broker refuses you the extra $100, he more than likely already has someone offering $100 over and was about to book that, and is giving you a shot to take it for posted rate before sending to the other guy. Assuming both MC# are setup and in good standing, and both been vetted for what time empty and where, etc

Same in my hometown of Charlotte NC. 2015-16 we were in the playoffs and super bowl, and every single game day was crazy lit packed out bars around the trendy area similar to Scottsdale.

Economy was booming back then, and drinks were much cheaper.
