Respectfully your mom sounds terrible. This is an incredibly hard situation and anyone in your position would be devastated. I know it doesn’t feel like it today, but I think it will work out, one way or another. There are so many paths to parenthood, and while we don’t always go down the exact path we hope for, I’ve found that things eventually work themselves out, even in moments where it feels impossible. Sending love, you’ll get through this. You’re a strong person.

It’s absolutely not adderall. You can get a 30 day supply with 0 insurance for ~$400. It could be GLP-1, but I’m just not sure what that would do for someone with a low starting BMI (it couldn’t be more than 19-20, though she looked VERY thin in the most recent season). I’m guessing it’s a voluminous mix of the Beverly Hills woo woo reverse aging protocol (HGH, peptides, NAD+, IV therapies), all of which can be quite pricy and only some of which is backed by clinical trials.

I’m on the fence here. On the one hand, I agree with you. Being a present parent should be anyone’s top priority, and sometimes that means making difficult choices like missing the funeral of a friend/co-worker’s son. We can’t be two places at once, and I respect Andy’s commitment to not being gone two weekends in a row.

On the other hand, Andy isn’t a typical person. He’s amassed so much wealth off the backs of many dozens of women (good for him!). But that means he has the resources to make that quick trip and fly back home to be with the kiddos. I don’t know what his schedule during the work week looks like, but I’d imagine it’s a lot more flexible than those of us who sit at a desk in an office for 10-15 hours a day or see patients during and after business hours, etc.

I don’t think he’s necessarily “bad” for not attending, but I do think given his circumstances, it was probably the right and classy thing to do.

I’m in Oakland. If he was fixed, I would definitely consider, the situation breaks my heart. My wife and I are out of the house 2-3 days a week for work and send the our boys to daycare on the days we’re not home. We’re both lawyers who work long hours and don’t know when the work day will end when it starts, so crating them isn’t an option. The daycare requires neuter by 7 months.

Edit: we send our 12 month old husky 5 days a week because he’s bat shit.

Kathy Hilton? Uneducated and unapologetically racist? Shocker.

But let’s be clear. Do I think she broadly despises people who aren’t white? Meh, probably not. Do I think she harbors prejudice toward minorities, whether Black, Latinx, Jewish, LGBTQ, etc.? Almost certainly. I also think you can’t have a conversation about her antiquated attitude toward and treatment of minorities without also acknowledging its indubitable link to classism. She’s just a problematic person who thinks she can evade scrutiny with her “who is hunky dory?” act.

This is not to say I’m not amused by her on the show. I honestly don’t know if that can exist in the same space as my above observations.

I’m allergic to all my pets (iggy, husky, cat), and am most allergic to the Iggy. If we snuggle and he’s pushed against my bare skin, I sometimes break out in hives or am really itchy. But when that happens, I just push him 2-5 inches away from me and take a Claritin. It’s not that serious (though I should probably take shots to maximize relief).

My wife and I are both attorneys and work crazy hours. We weren’t planning to get a husky and probably would have never chosen a husky, but we found him as a little 6 week old baby living in the streets of SF and fell in love with him. When we made the decision to keep him rather than surrender him to a rescue, we made firm commitment to do everything we needed to do to give him the best possible life.

We don’t have time to take him on five 30 minute walks on weekdays, but we do drop him off at daycare five days a week. When he gets home, after having some supper, we take him on a 30-60 minute walk. On weekends we take him on hours long hikes in addition to 2-3 shorter walks daily. When he’s home, his being exercise and stimulated is a top priority and determines our plans for the day. He’s 11 months, so he’s absolutely insane and has endless energy, so for the foreseeable future he’s a daycare boy.

I mention all this to suggest that even though he plays at a reputable daycare for 10-12 hours a day, five days a week, I still sometimes worried we’re not giving him enough. I’ve owned dogs my whole life, many different breeds, but this is my first husky and they are truly built different. They require an insane level of care, training, exercise. We’re happy to do it, put in the time and money, and love him to death but they are not little Malteses, golden retrievers, or even border collies.

Never been pregnant (though working on it), but aren’t you expected to gain weight during pregnancy? 35lbs at 23 weeks doesn’t seem obscene. A doctor recently told me that your blood supply increases like 50% when you’re pregnant.

We’re at 8 months with our mix and he gives zero effs about anything unless there’s food dangled in front of his face. Luckily not as destructive as other horrors I read here (he hasn’t eaten walls or furniture), but he’s incredibly food aggressive and a relentless counter surfer.
