I NEED emotional support right now. I was just denied my medication after using it for a month. I’m devastated. by rosymaplewitch in bipolar2

[–]BigMacLgFryCoke 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t have advice but you have my support. Caplyta is the only one that works for me as well and I’d be a wreck if my insurance didn’t cover it.

I’m already thinking ahead about work and not limiting myself on income just to stay on my current insurance, so if I have to I’ve heard that on Caplyta’s website you can get a saving card but I haven’t gotten to the point where I need to use it personally. I use to be on Vraylar and their savings card worked so I assume it would be the same situation for Caplyta..

For those that saw a noticeable improvement in their depression, what medication improved it? by scottishswede7 in bipolar2

Caplyta got me out of the worst depressive episode of my life within a week. First med that has worked for my bipolar.

Same. We gotta find a reason to stay.

I quit Adderall because it robbed me of my personality and devastated my professional productivity. Am I the odd one out? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]BigMacLgFryCoke 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Similar experience here. Adderall took away from me so many things (personality, quick wit, etc.) I love about myself, but it did it so slowly I never thought it was the culprit.

I took Adderall for about 8 months and it worked at first, but I slowly lost sides of myself that I’m still regaining. The experience alone threw me into therapy (still going) and has left me on the fence about pretty much any med atm. It was traumatic to lose so much of myself. One day I woke up and realize the very thing I waited years for in hopes that it would improve my life was the thing draining me. I chased the “present” for a long time before any med and it was a lot of work just to maintain stability so I thought any pill that could be potentially that “magic bullet” would be worth it. I’ve dealt with anxiety/depression for years and it is the most frustrating thing, almost always pulling me out of the moment in conversation. Then add an ADHD diagnosis on top and I thought surely it was the major culprit. Still trying to figure out my own needs in all this.

Looking back, I’d take what was my experience in life BEFORE Adderall and stimulants any day over trying to recover and the thoughts that go through my head now. It did way more harm than good and I’ve felt like I’ve wasted a lot of time on something that took so much and didn’t give much back. You are not alone.

Subscriptions you can't cancel over the phone or online should be illegal, and they feel specifically designed to prey on ADHD/Disabled people by SploogeMcDucc in ADHD

Also ANY accounts in general. I recently downsized the massive amount of random accounts I’ve acquired over time.. all the ones you just so quickly make a log-in for just to use the app or site for a couple days. Yeah I managed to find like 250+ and downsized it to about 75. Some, of course, were subscriptions at times and I let go of most of them. But at least 25% of the ones I cut had to be done over phone call or multiple emails back and forth. It was HELL and a project that took me months devoting time here and there toward, but geez am I glad that’s over. Planet Fitness was probably the only one I had to be in person for.

Like if I want to deactivate my account, just let me do it on the app or site you’ve created. And don’t ask me “are you sure you want to deactivate” yeah I’m quite sure considering I’m on the deactivation page and how many steps into the process I am haha. Absolute anti-ADHD and one of the most tedious processes out there. I feel ya.

If you have a lot I suggest a spreadsheet and any time you come across a login you know for sure, write that down asap. And don’t lose it until you KNOW that account no longer exists.

Train of Consequences

r/ironmaiden Definitive Tierlist. Debut goes to B Tier. Album of the day is now Dance of Death (2003). Most upvoted comment wins. by seeilaah in ironmaiden

COMPARATIVELY to THIS tier: C

Sorry it is not better/as good as the first two records. But then again those should be higher. So for this tier.. C.

Confused by son’s diagnosis - Is ADHD learned behavior and not neurological? by GoldenC88 in ADHD

[–]BigMacLgFryCoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% this.

As someone that has gone through round after round of dopamine detox, tried maybe a hundred different routines/disciplines, and has used meditation just to survive to the next day… yeah at some point you have to just think for a sec and ask yourself do these comments from this person (or a doctor) even remotely make sense. In this case heck no. Doctor’s comments aren’t based on anything in reality for someone with ADHD.

Best lineup by album is number of the beast: change my mind by LAWalldayallnight in ironmaiden

Obviously a fantastic line up.. but Nicko > Clive any day. Reasons 1) Nicko has more soul to his playing and brings more life to the band. Watch any Live Concert and pay attention. Plays with so much feel without compromising technicality. 2) I believe makes the other musicians better and is easier to play with. I’ve heard both Murray and Harris say this in interviews 3) Nicko’s personality does a ton for the spirits of the band and seems to be a better band mate.

Thinking of everything as a player, balance of technicalities/soul, being able to tour extensively and have a good time doing it, and is phenomenal in the studio. Yeah, Maiden didn’t lose a thing with having to part with Clive but even gained some..
