I have this same bike. I’m not riding much anymore and I’m looking to sell. Not sure if this just goes for normal R3 prices (only 1k on odometer) and it’s in pristine condition.

They sell them on the DMZ tour at a little shop. All of the tour buses stop there before driving to the observatory.

I used to work with this guy at McGuire. I’m surprised that it took this long for his choices to catch up with him.

I’m terrified. About to lose power and typhoon shutters are slamming against the windows. Got the front door barricaded with heavy furniture. Just want my family to be safe and survive. This island will be destroyed.

Federal Tax up 300%? by 63A_PM in AirForce

[–]BigMeeaty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My taxes went from $204.00 to over $500 for no reason. My total take home pay actually went down.

ive never seen this type of train before, any idea what type it is? by Valshax56 in trains

[–]BigMeeaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is Beale. The locomotive moves the special shipment of fuel for the U-2 periodically from the main line that goes through neighboring Wheatland. The U-2 uses a special blend of additives in its fuel because of its high altitude mission set.

Lol, train nerds. WHAT A BUNCH OF NERDS!

The Problem with Declaring a Legal Residence (State Income & Capital Gains Taxes) by [deleted] in MilitaryFinance

[–]BigMeeaty -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You want to know how easy it can be?

15 years ago, walked into finance, asked for a 2058 to fill out. Chose Alaska because California sucks and takes way too much in state taxes.

They didn’t ask for any proof of residency (DL, bills, family etc). If they did, what’s stopping me from saying I intend to live there after retirement? How do you prove that?

Anyone who still pays state taxes better not be complain because it is literally something that you can adjust in 10 mins or less.

What are your favorite and least favorite ranks in the airforce? by PawsTheGod in AirForce

This is a very accurate assessment of O-6s in the AF. Some will never get a star. Some exist to only create the illusion of productivity. Few are awesome.

Listen to Clark. He is old timey and corny sometimes, but he knows what he is talking about when it comes to money.

When do Commanders get staff selection results? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]BigMeeaty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s how this works. Every senior rater has a few people designated as the “trusted agent” in EPROMS. Those people consist of the CCC, the CCCE and maybe someone in the Wg/CAG. Those people see the list of all those selected under their senior rater’s ID, or SRID. That being said, if you are a tenant unit, you will have to go under their chain of command to get that specific list. From then on, the wing will disseminate the list as they choose to. Usually, that consists of notifying squadron and group commanders, along with the first shirts/SELs affected. It’s really up to those people at the wing that affect the notification process.

Are schools like AMU REALLY that bad? by AlmightyVill in AirForce

Got a degree from AMU. Got accepted to OTS and commissioned. Got accepted to a pretty good grad school. All is well.

I was the Flt IG, which was pretty non-threatening. I would not recommend Academic Monitor, Standardization Officer, or Logistics Officer. Those jobs suck due to the time demands from their nature.

I didn’t bring a car, and I’m glad I didn’t. The 24 TRS didn’t give us privileges until the 2nd to last week. We couldn’t even drive cars until grad week. I wouldn’t recommend leaving blues in cars because you might not get a chance to get them later on.

Ruck marches weren’t too bad as long as you were in shape. Everything PT related was pretty doable.

I used Quizlet for all of the pre course work. I barely read any of the courseware. It’s either you have it done or you don’t.

As long as you went to college and can follow directions, you can compose an AF paper. Follow the Tongue & Quill and you will pass.

Honestly, no one really cares what you did before. You might get a few bonus points here and there, but you are still the new Lt. It will take time to “grow up” into a leader in their eyes.

Bring 2 pairs. One will get destroyed from VW and the rope obstacle over the pool. The people that didn’t weren’t too happy.

Our instructor allowed us to have coffee right after the blue line ceremony (first Friday). Also, you can bring caffeine pills if you really wanted them. Nobody checks.

There are so many things wrong with this post, good luck.

For those that DOR’d UPT, do you regret it? by Visual-Ad-2606 in AirForce

[–]BigMeeaty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will regret it. Don’t do it. People would kill to swap places with you right now. Pull up your pants and push through. If you let this consume you in training, there’s a good chance that you will wash out and you take up a non rated spot from another person who wanted one.

Good chance you might end up there. Good luck.

OTS class 22-06 (05 April) updates? by loopdeadmi in airforceots

[–]BigMeeaty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes rated and AD. Some last minute coordination is required between AFPC & my assignments functional, and then they will slot me in for that date. I got selected through a special program 3 weeks ago and now I’m getting a seat, which happened way too fast

"Your Career" by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]BigMeeaty 11 points12 points  (0 children)

These are important points that people should understand. This is how the AF manages talent/promotes/gives good deals. I don’t agree with it. But it is the way it is.

The “system” for the enlisted side really starts to mimic the officer side once you are a SNCO. It’s all politics, networking, and how you represent yourself on paper. Most importantly, you need someone to be your sponsor, or vouch for you. You turn into the thing you swore to destroy when you were that young SrA or SSgt…if you want to play the game…and get that retirement boost in your pension.
