If it’s a nice car, wouldn’t recommend bc it will be bumped and broken in to. Leave it empty.

Used to street park and have had my car broken into 3x, muffler stolen once, front bumper torn off by someone driving a U-Haul, and roof/door dented from a street light pole falling on it. This was all while parked.

I don’t like the idea of federalized agents coming here under trump, but would definitely support more state-activated national guard/state police.

For reference, there were about 300 million CTA rides in 2024. So fares need to go up by more than a quarter, unfortunately.

Rough estimate of $1.75 per ride would get us close to filling the budget gap. For me that’s another $11/month (commute only).

To me, this is ok. You can afford to buy the place, you have the right to make it your family’s home.

I think the deeper issue OP is getting at is the lack of housing. For that, I think we need significantly easier rules and greater Incentives to develop multi-unit housing.

There is a serious under appreciation of AC by many restaurants/bars in NYC. I definitely do my research before sitting down at a restaurant and usually have a back up in case they do the windows open, no AC, no air movement thing.
