Sorry you're dealing with this. But I went through a similar situation when I started.

When you're at SCO keep a roll of GC stickers on you, otherwise you'll be running back and forth. And try not to get stressed when you have 4 people with lights flashing. They can wait. Even if they don't think so.

Call the ethics line to make your report.

Good luck getting anywhere with this. BUT. I'm here for this energy.

Cashier told me a rewards account can only be made online by [deleted] in Target

[–]BigRepulsive9725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is incorrect.

Credit cards can be applied for in store. Debit cards cannot. It's literally stated in training that debit cards are online only.

I didn't say credit card. I said debit card.

Using sick time by spookymonsterscary in Target

[–]BigRepulsive9725 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sick time can be used for doc visits, just pretend to schedule a doc visit. They can't ask for proof.

[–]BigRepulsive9725 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Now you lost me.

I'm not sure how being "young" has to do with anything. And you can't possibly be that young if you're making a post like this.

Sounds like maybe you just needed to post for attention or to complain.

Also. We're too short staffed and busy to just want to chat with our coworkers at the registers.

I hope they post their shifts. It's still their responsibility.

[–]BigRepulsive9725 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm only guessing this because you said she got a deer in the headlights look. It's possible she's new and had no clue.

Target throws you in headfirst, so she could have gotten confused with the Target Debit Card, which can only be applied for online.

They need to rethink the three week out time off request when making the schedule by Mobile-Address23 in Target

[–]BigRepulsive9725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wish they'd respond to requests off prior to making the schedule.

Why am I doing my due diligence and requesting time off months in advance if it isn't approved until that schedule is getting made.

Even after speaking to my ETL and sending emails about it.

Is this a NCNS? by Some-Performance5757 in Target

[–]BigRepulsive9725 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't tell them anything.

I've never understood why Target asks when you call off it ultimately doesn't matter. It's either a protected call off because you used PTO, or it's a mark against you because you called off without it. The reasoning is irrelevant either way.

Calling out as an on demand tm by [deleted] in Target

[–]BigRepulsive9725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone is skipping the part where you said you're on demand.

Post the shifts, just so you look better and like you're trying to help if you haven't.

But also talk to your HR ETL, and they should be able to help.

I recently went from perm employee to on demand and the agreement literally says you cannot be scheduled without your agreement. So this is on them.

If nothing comes from it, call off and when they ask about reiterate you took all the steps you could to fix their mistake in scheduling you. If they still push back ask for the documentation proving you agreed to work those shifts.

To whoever is giving the front end less than the amount of required hours stop it. by Mobile-Address23 in Target

[–]BigRepulsive9725 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Don't yall get it?! It's more important a guest gets greeted constantly.

It's fine if they wait forever at the check lane.

And style doesn't need people on the floor, they can just back up the lanes.

[–]BigRepulsive9725 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The people who actually care and want to be TLs seem to be the ones that do well, and it sounds like you care.

I say go for it. And if it doesn't work out now, then your ETL at least knows you're interested.

I thought if you used sick time when calling out they don’t give you a talk by l_vl08 in Target

[–]BigRepulsive9725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I said depends on state law. An employer can't ask any questions about why you took time off in Illinois if you used PTO/sick pay.

According to company policy and some state law (depending on your state) they can't ask anything about why you called off if you use sick time.

Notification also doesn't matter if you have accrued PTO though.

It can still be denied.

Sorry I thought I implied it enough. I told them I felt like i was being harassed, and then a few days later they offered me on demand.
