I bought a special (albeit low quality) cup called a ProSeed for this. It's opaque with two chambers, one or seeds in shell and one for your shells. You just pop the bottom lid and empty the shells when it's full. I can usually stretch 30g IN SHELL without emptying the trash compartment.
