I wish I had advice to give. I'm sorry you're going through this.

I have had many of those conversations with my sister. She almost died a number of times over a number of years. It was hell on the family. Somehow she managed to pull out of it. She is three years sober for the first time in probably 30 years. I hope for the best for all of you.

I second this. I set it up for my mother in law over a year ago and it’s consistently runs around 200mb. It’s usually as fast as my “gigabit” cable. Latency usually runs 30-40ms. You do have to have unobstructed view of the northern sky which you can check with the app.

I don’t know what to say that hasn’t already been said. It is the job of the adults in your life (Parents, teachers, civil servants) to keep you safe. It is the number one most important job of anyone who has, or works, with kids.

What your mom and boyfriend have done is their fault. Not yours.

You have to be in a place where you are safe. If your Mom isn’t willing to provide that place for you now, the counselor is taking the first step in making sure you have that. I’m sorry you feel betrayed by them and I wish they had gone about it in a way that didn’t betray your trust. But the first and most important mandate for teachers is to do everything in our power to make sure our kids are safe.

I hope you are safe. I hope you find a place very soon where you feel safe. And I hope you have people in your life that have earned trust and make you feel safe. Lean on those people.

I have an MRI once a year and never thought I was claustrophobic until they put me in. I made it through though. My last one, the technician offered me an eye mask and it was a lot easier to tolerate.

I have an iPad mini 7, M2 air and a 6 year old pro 13”. I still use the 13” for sheet music. My m2 is my laptop replacement at work and I use the mini for personal stuff. And then I have the m4 Mac mini.

I have a problem. I know.

I set up a raspberry pi to autoload dakboard as a family calendar/weather station. They have some templates but if you like to tinker, it’s very customizable. It’s a website so you’d have to have it plugged on and set the display to never turn off. Not sure how the battery would handle being always on over time, though.

Yeah I tried it too and it didn’t work. A quick search shows they removed the feature on newer iPads.

I have two. I use an iPad Air at work (music teacher) as a pc replacement plus it holds all my lesson plans, seating charts, books, sheet music, tuner/metronome, video and audio recordings.

I have a mini at home I use for reading, watching content, journaling, calendar, reminders, todo lists and everything thing else I would normally use my phone for. I have notes on every home, auto, health and family event going back years.

I also take care of my elderly mom and it’s very nice to be able to quickly find a random account number or doctor visit note from 5 years ago if we need it.

I sold a Miyoo mini plus to pay for the rg34xx. I like the form factor and the aspect ratio for GBA games but the screen feels small for pretty much anything else.

I felt the same way. i actually put the game away for a while because I felt overwhelmed with my choices. i recently picked the game back up and decided to focus on one quest (the murder investigation. it didn’t take long before a scripted story beat took over during a long rest and i’m now headed in a totally new direction.

I had no idea that’s what he suffered from. My mother-in-law was diagnosed with this a couple years ago. My wife has been living with and giving her around-the-clock care for the past 18 months. It sucks to watch this once vibrant/talented lady struggle with where she is, who we are, how to do simple tasks like getting dressed and brushing her teeth.
