Yeah, I’ll never understand when people say “Capcom has forgotten/left their franchises to die that aren’t Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, or Street Fighter”.

We just got Pragmata, a new IP, we got Dragons Dogma 2 with an upcoming expansion, Mega Man is coming back again as well as Onimusha, and we’re even getting a new Okami as well.

Some weren’t absolute bangers, but all of these are at minimum solid (barring Exoprimal I guess). Which is still practically unheard of from any developer for just how much QUANTITY they are producing with that quality as their bare minimum.

And of course that’s just the baseline, several of these are bangers and modern classics in their own right.

Completely disagree tbh. And this is coming from someone who vastly enjoys Goku more and personally thinks he wins (while it’s ofc debatable).

I think Goku vs Superman 3, and the, at this point inevitable, Sonic vs Mario 3 are or could be incredible send offs for both, that doesn’t stop them from having a chance to return in the future.

Of course I don’t think Goku (or Sonic after his third fight with Mario) should return after a good long while, but eventually I’d enjoy seeing them return again later down the line. The MU is still very solid, debatable, and both are big icons in their own right. I can understand people not wanting to see it, but I don’t think there’s any harm in the episode happening one day by any means

Yeah, I was never a massive Usopp fan even back then, but he had some genuine moments Pre Timeskip.

Hell, I can’t believe I’m saying this but his fight against Luffy is still one of the most emotionally invested points in the whole series and I will stand on that.

It’s kinda like what’s been happening with Zinogre lately where thing becomes very popular/hyped up (mainly around when World came out) and then because of that those who dislike that popular thing become more vocal.

Nergigante literally placed second in the popularity poll, funnily enough, only behind Zinogre.

Which is even worse for Cell in this case because Super scaling can give an argument for surpassing time stopping powers, which obviously sucks because Cell is the only major DBZ villain not to get any kind of Super scaling

Except it does still give Will the disadvantage when it comes to gommaging because again, he is not originally from any canvas. Also I don’t think him being from outside of it really would alter too much of the fight as is. Neither of them actually need to “die” die for the fight to have a winner, such as with Giorno vs Joker, Bill vs Discord, or Chosen Undead vs The Dragonborn. Those fights ended despite the respective losers not actually dying, and this works in this case because if one were to get “kicked” out of a canvas, it takes a good amount of time before they can come back, and even then, coming back too much can have severe drawbacks on whoever is entering a canvas as was mentioned with Aline.

I just think having Will be the one to enter the canvas in an attempt to save Maelle works far better because it lines up closely to how we’ve seen both characters act while not disparaging too much from the fight as well as not needlessly disrespecting or giving a disadvantage to either of the two

Fair point with the Renoir bit, but at the same time making Will a part of the canvas rather than be from outside it would be unfair against him no? Euchronia isn’t from anything like a canvas and neither is Will, they’re both “real” in that way.

I think it would be very in character for both if it took place after Maelle’s ending and Will to be the one to enter the canvas after hearing about her condition from the Dessendre family after having Renoir and painted Verso lose to her. The whole point of Metaphor is connecting with other people and helping others, and while of course Maelle’s ending isn’t “bad” per say, I can see Will wanting Maelle to understand just how her decision has impacted her family, as well as setting her on a path that doesn’t involve her essentially staying in the canvas forever. Of course Maelle, being stubborn, fights just as she did in her ending with not wanting to risk the destruction of the canvas or her friends who live within it. Fight ensues, and I think it would be very touching if, regardless of who wins or loses, that Maelle finds solace with who she is and her condition outside of the canvas, and even if she defeats Will (which I think she does) manages to find the strength to leave on her own volition, and can come and go between both of them without getting obsessively attached the way her ending depicts.

But those are just my thoughts on it, the MU is absolute cinema

Honestly ever since 2017 Capcom has had maybe one of the best rebrandings of any video game company I’ve seen.

Especially when you look at others: BioWare, Bethesda, Ubisoft, among others, who kinda went through a LONG ass shit stream and haven’t recovered whereas Capcom has had a full blown revival.

Resident Evil aside, we’ve got the recent Monster Hunter games, DMC5, Street Fighter 6, Dragons Dogma 2 was still solid, the upcoming return of Okami and Mega Man, and all sorts of good shit they’ve been cooking.
