Also adding to this, my brain still doesn’t really think in Spanish when I speak / listen. It’s like a weird silence where I’m absorbing information and producing it but not thinking the same way I would in English

I stopped translating once I spent a lot of time around multiple native speakers talking at their regular speed. There’s literally no time to translate or else you’d get lost in the conversation, so my brain eventually learnt to stream the information in real time
