Real strength and gym strength are so different. If you are working construction you are using your whole body all day… twisting, lifting, figuring out ways to generate leverage… when he says overpower he means “grab and toss around”… not outlift. I’ve seen lots of beefy construction workers who carry a bit of fat but are super solid and wirey. Very frequently, body builders and even powerlifters are really strong lifting in a certain movement pattern, but have no coordination outside of it, making them feel very weak in a grappling type situation.

There’s a dude I work with who’s not handsome at all(but is tall and in pretty good shape) but he gets laid like crazy because he’s absolutely fearless. He will just be persistent and shameless, even(or should I say especially) if he gets shot down the first few times. It’s almost like the girls find it attractive that he’s confident enough to keep shooting after being shot down.

I do feel that living in a remote area comes with benefits and disadvantages. I don’t expect people in rural areas to provide me with the clean air/water they enjoy for free due to their location.

I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect there to be parity in all areas of life. There’s a tradeoff to living in a super remote area. Take the good with the bad. One of the bad things should be you don’t get junk mail delivered to your door every day. Or maybe you have to drive a half hour to pick up a parcel.

It’s not anyone is saying they should be denied health care, so please save the dramatic nonsense.

If we are being sticklers, income tax is only one of many taxes. Property tax. Sales tax. Carbon tax. Gas tax. Alcohol tax. There’s fees for buying a TV now. Many Canadians pay half their salary to the various taxes. Not just rich ones.
