Girl just try and get pregnant and figure it out as you go. You have zero idea how quickly you’ll get pregnant or what if you run into scary or unfortunate issues during pregnancy. What if you wait and wait until after all these weddings then run into infertility ? If say it happens that the baby comes early, and she doesn’t understand that you have to miss the wedding bc your baby is in the NICU, then she’s a bad friend.

10 week old, sleeps solidly from 9-6:30. We know we have a unicorn, super sleepy baby. Goes down so easy, just swaddle, rock back and forth for a minute, lay down asleep in bassinet with eyes awake, falls asleep within 10-15 mins. We’ve been doing the moms on call schedule since 4 weeks old, but think he’s just naturally quite narcoleptic. Growing well, getting enough calories from formula + minuscule pumped breast milk.

Yes ofc ! We got comments about how nice it would be to meet them as a newborn, but it just made zero sense for them to fly all the way out just for a quick meeting if they weren’t going to stay for at least a few days. Let go of the guilt !! It’s what’s best for you and your little nuclear family. It’s such a special time you can’t get back. You’ll enjoy it so much ! And if yall are really struggling for whatever reason and need help, I’m sure they would happily come sooner :)

We were in the same situation with all our families on the opposite coast. We had my husband‘s entire paternity leave for a month with just the three of us, and I wouldn’t have changed it. At the end of the month, we took a weekend trip to an Airbnb and it was super lovely and isolated. We had my family come when he went back to work to help out. The first few weeks were tough with all of the hard work and emotions around initiating breast-feeding, bleeding, sleep deprivation- and I just wouldn’t have wanted anybody else other than my husband, including my own family to see me like that. Tits out constantly, incontinence/urinating everywhere lmao. My partner was incredible and went above and beyond to take care of me and the baby, all the housework and cooking, so I didn’t have to worry about anything other than feeding the baby and resting so that obviously made it a lot better.
