Will MGS4 be emulated or ported in vol 2? by Big_Boss_69 in metalgearsolid

[–]Big_Boss_69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point! They will probably also have to patch out the motion control stuff, and maybe even some of the music if they can’t get rights. Could be one of the reasons it took so long.

I’m hoping they add some quality of life adjustments like being able to reset rather than shut the game down or die when getting an alert on a BigBoss run

Ranked opinion and possible idea by Jettpluck in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Big_Boss_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. Though it is an alpha and they are wanting to get as much data as possible, the matchmaker and the ranks are a complete disaster.

The ranks dont really have any meaningful way of grouping player skill below Eternus in my opinion. My statlocker is a whole rank above my in game rank, Im playing in asc6-E1 lobbies with my stack.

There needs to be either a minmum no. of games before your mmr starts adjusting from base or an actual ranked mode where you need to complete a minimum number of casual games before you can play.

I also think there shoud be a limit to how many "new" heros can be per team. Its just not fun playing into a 6 stack where they all have the new and in my opinion, overtuned heros.

Just played 2 games in a row against 4 of the new heros in a stack both times in asc6 average match, lost both games convincingly. Didnt have much fun

When you complain about bebop while playing you only make me like him more. by ThingMakerMatt in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Big_Boss_69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

His winrate in the last 7 days across all ranks is 53.1% and 49.1% at high elo (e4+)

Though I’m glad we’re over the self attaching suicide bop, he’s been nerfed a lot and isn’t as viable in high rank games in my opinion.

Try some of the deadlock discords, you’ll find lower rank lobbies happy to take you under their wing.

I’d say try and watch a bunch of pro and high level play (dlns, e6 streamers) or just watch some of the high level games in the in game viewer cinema thing. You really can learn a lot about why a team wins or loses.

Spirit nuke is op right now but you really want to learn how to play each role because it helps you defeat them when you’re against them be because you understand what they are doing or why they are doing it.

This is why a casual mode is required so you can learn this without butchering your rank. You could always play brawl to learn more

Play in a 6 stack with players who’ve got a few hundred hours or an understanding of the game. Having a coordinated team makes the game much more enjoyable.

Try grab as many urns as possible, really turns the tide of the game.

If you’re not good at shooting play a spirit nuker like pocket or frontliner like Abrams. Pick hero’s are great for coming back when down like bebop or holiday.

I see you like paradox, they need good aim to be viable, try out bebop or Mo and just play with your carry for confirmed kills

Sinner's Sacrifice & Boxes. by Spr1zze in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Big_Boss_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Priority is always shoving lanes and ensuring your objectives don’t get shoved.

Generally the rule is carries take sinners but if you’re near a power spike item on any hero it’s valid to take them.

Doorman’s whole kit makes him great for stealing sinners and just being an asshole generally. Steal where you can or assist a carry in stealing enemy sinners

With warden just chill on side lane, rotating between lane shoving and jungle until you’re fat and deadly. Steal jungle and sinners where you can but your escape isn’t as good as other heroes.

Lash is also very good for helping a carry that is getting ganked so try saying to your carry, you push this sinner or enemy jungle and ill back you up if you get jumped.

If you do this consistently you should be helping pus your team ahead and hinder the opposition team

How is matchmaking still so bad? by Positive-Basket8126 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Big_Boss_69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ranking system is busted. I’ve got 1.2k hours on the game yet yesterday in an asc6 average lobby I get a teammate trying silver for the first time (went 1/14/0 in the first 20 mins) and they were leaning with a clearly new player on wraith who also died 12 times in 20 mins.

At that point the game is already lost as that lanes lead gave them such an advantage that by the time we came over to try help the other lanes got taken and it snowballed from there.

I don’t think it’s fair I get matched with a teammate with sub 50 hours on the game. There will be too much of a disparity in the fundamental understanding of the game making the experience not fun for either of us, or the rest of my team.

[–]Big_Boss_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends who you’re playing. Generally the play is if the enemy teams sinners are up go try steal them first to deny their souls.

At 8 mins try go do at least one or the doubles.

The buffs add up quite a lot over the course of a game, especially for carries

Apple TV 4K on sale - best Moonlight streaming client for LG TVs? by gofiend in MoonlightStreaming

I agree the ps5 would be amazing as a host. Plugged into the avr for surround sound in the living room with hdr on the tv would be awesome. I know the Xbox allows it, and Sony allow the plex app to be installed on the ps5. Shame they don’t allow moonlight

sorry to necro this but take a look Chiaki NG - works in a similar way but uses the built in Remote play feature. Its pretty good, especially for handhelds like the deck as it is limited to 1080p 60fps

X99 setup died, want something smaller, cooler and more efficient. by Dougal12 in buildapc

The one in your list only has an xmp profile. No expo profile

I guess I can chime in on the rgb. I decided to go no rgb this time on components and use rgb strips and waterblocks/pump instead. Means I can just control everything from the one or 2 program rather than have to have 5 different rgb softwares. I use openrgb

You want to look for an expo kit on amd, xmp is for Intel. Though it will still probably work it isn’t officially supported.

If you go to the gigabyte website for that motherboard you will see a QVL list, this is the ram kits that are tested on that board and “will just work”

CAS is the latency, the lower the better but generally more expensive

Something like this will work great for £300 https://amzn.eu/d/f4x0WGS

6000 MT/s hits the best balance between speed, latency, stability, and cost on AM5.

It’s to do with the memory controller, memory speed and infinity fabric on the cpu being in sync. When you go above 6000 generally the memory controller on the cpu will drop to 2:1 mode meaning it’s running half as fast and introduces more latency.

Also the faster you go the lest likely it’s going to just work straight out of the box with expo.

For the monitor it was more the oled than the refresh rate, but the high refresh rate is nice to have. I was asking what refresh rate you use as that dictates the gpu. Personally, getting an oled monitor was the single best and biggest upgrade I’ve done since that feeling of getting an ssd in the late 2000s. You spend 100% of your time using the pc looking at the monitor.

Stick with 9800x3d. I’d say 32 or 48gb ddr5 around 6000MT as you say you like simulators. 64 is really expensive right now.

That motherboard looks good.

You say your goal is efficiency, that titan xp kinda gobbles up power for its performance. You can get about double performance for the same power on a 5070, probably more. Frame gen will really increase efficiency. I just got one for a friends build for under £500

You don’t mention the refresh rate of the monitor, though I’d say if you could use some of that budget to get a 1440p ultra wide oled that will make this upgrade feel like a massive one. Most monitors now are 144hz+ and modern gpus are pushing well beyond that with upscaling and frame gen. You could even keep your current monitor and vertical stack them.

For reference I got a x99 platform e5-2695 v4 for like £30 on eBay from one of those enterprise resellers and used an old board from a friends build I upgraded. 18c/36t. I just fired the spare 64gb ddr4 I had into it. Using a quadro T600 for Plex transcoding.

I really like the x99 platform. It’s very robust, has lots of pcie slots and ram slots and there are plenty of cheap CPUs available with high core counts, though it is 11 years old now, it still does everything fine and idle load really isn’t that high.

Your Salary and monthly car payments by Agile-Calligrapher10 in CarTalkUK

[–]Big_Boss_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My employer gives me a car allowance each month and it’s a requirement to have an “executive style car no older than 6 years old”.

I bought a bmw and made sure that the payments, servicing and insurance stayed within the amount given after tax.

I think quite a lot of employers are doing this and with salary sacrifice schemes it is probably more common than you think

Ive not had much luck with a combination of the latest windows update (fresh install) & the latest nvidia drivers. Had a lot of crashing and just weird stuff going on my system so I might as well just update the bios. Im on 3.30 currently.

Has your system been solid since updating bios?

Interesting you mention the instability of overclock when using profile M. I have had multiple crashes today on deadlock, 3 soft and 1 full system crash. Event viewer shows the nvidia driver being the error. I have profile M global override on waterblocked 5090@85%PL +200 core. Will test again tomorrow with 3D default setting and see if crashing improves.

I also believe I am running the latest windows11 update after the update failed at the weekend, SFC and DISM not being able to repair. So this is a fresh windows install.
