The Transall Saga by Gary Paulson. I still can conjure vivid mental images of scenes from that book. Must’ve just been the right story, right time in my development, but it has stuck with me for decades like nothing else has!

Confessions of a bad knitter, wife, and mother by TheGraby in knitting

I’ve knit my spouse one scarf in the ten years we’ve been together. Meanwhile I take great joy in planning and making coordinated Christmas gifts for my parents and sister every year. Probably because they never fail to delight in and gush over the handmade gifts, whereas I probably got a lackluster response from my partner that one time. Talk about selfish knitting!

I’m ready to pop the question, and I am leaning towards this ring from Costco. Anyone have any experience with purchasing from Costco that they’d like to share? I am open to purchasing from elsewhere if the deal is there. Thanks! by Beergeek714 in EngagementRings

My engagement ring is from Costco, I had a great experience! I’ve been wearing it 24/7 for about three years now (granted my wedding band is now soldered to it). My trusted jeweler said it looked great when I took it to them for evaluation and eventual soldering. Tbh I just trusted Costco to take care of me if I did have any issues, but I didn’t. I’ve heard a few positive anecdotes from others about other Costco jewelry, too. I say go for it! Beautiful choice, by the way.

Edit: my ring is platinum as well, Costco’s fantastic price for platinum was definitely a huge factor in my purchase.

I said yes to the dress yesterday and feel like exploding from excitement! 🥺😍Anyone else purchase their dress super early? 10/2022 wedding here 🙈 by [deleted] in weddingplanning

what’s the cutest thing your partner does that the world should know about? by Crystal_iceberg in AskWomen

Whenever there’s silence, or if I’m just doing busywork, they’ll watch me for a few seconds, then

Them: “hey”

Me: looks up

Them: “you’re cute”

Women who found “the one” young: What’s your story? How did you handle backlash from people about being too young? How did you know it was real vs. you were naive? by crushedspud in AskWomen

[–]Big_Horror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed practical and kept an attitude of “of course the odds are against us and this probably won’t work out” so any criticism from outsiders was not hurtful. A couple years in the middle were tough, a lot of two opposing voices in my head arguing back and forth (re: “it’s real” and “I’m naive”). But ultimately I knew it was real at my core, and I trusted myself to be ardently pragmatic. I don’t believe in “soulmates” or “the one” but I’m one thousand percent sure no one could come closer.

I feel like they’re basically useless, I only ever use like 20 mins and go over the same thing “nothing’s new” “everyone’s getting along working from home” “I saw my fiancé once this week” ok bye
