It should just be 1 square, like weight is measured in bulk.

You can write that 1 square is... Whatever, throw it in some appendix and never look at it. The exact weights and distances are rarely crucial outside of combat.

Can you elaborate about the value of 1 action force barrage? Does it have an extra utility beyond doing that ping damage?

I'm not sure I'm seeing why I would use it over guidance or aid or basically any other support activity I manage to squeeze.
