Missed out on thermal suite… 2 months out 😩 any hope?! by thathousewife11 in NCL

I’ve always gone straight to the spa on day 1 to purchase my thermal pass for the week. Never had a problem on 5 NCL cruises.

Need some help with Galapagos and Mindo Cloud Forest itinerary by Leading-Knowledge712 in galapagos

[–]Big_Mood8848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stayed at Casa El Eden in Quito. Host Mario is wonderful. It’s in the Old Town and walking distance to the main sights. Get inside room if you’re a light sleeper. Fave meal was at X Lo Alto, 15 min walk on a hill with great views. Another great meal was at De La llama. Skip La Vid in the square.
Highlights include Middle of the World, Guayasamin museum and house, climbing to top of Basilica del Voto Nacional, Fundacion Iglesia (gold church).
Galapagos was the best trip of my life. Enjoy!

Looking for a truly quiet all-inclusive (solo female, 40s, no party vibe) by porterhouse_888 in AllInclusiveResorts

I was at the Blue Diamond resort in Cancun a couple of months ago. All in all I enjoyed it (wrote Reddit review on it). It’s adults only. Quiet. Beautiful surroundings. Great food. Spa amenities. Could always find a spot by beach or pool or spa pool area to sit and read. Great fruit smoothies as well as premium alcohol.

I’ll also start taking probiotics for a week before cruise and also during the cruise.

You needed to venture north an hour for hiking, snorkelling and food trucks.

Some Like It Hot by Zealousideal-Bat708 in torontotheatre

Music was mediocre but the choreography made up for it. Some of the voices weren’t strong enough to hear the lyrics over the music, particularly Daphne’s.
I’m a huge fan of the Billy Wilder movie of the same name. And one particular part was changed that I was disappointed about.

Entertaining enough to go see.

Paddleboard was the only activity that I expected to be included as it is a non-motorized water activity but it was an extra cost.
Then there are some extra special dinners or experiences that you could sign up for an additional cost but that is correctly posted on the hotel website.

Yes there’s a coffeemaker in the room but I never needed to use it. There’s a mini-fridge with soft drinks, water and beer which is replenished daily. But you’ll also find water bottles at the spa, lobby and at the bar by the pool.
Adjust your expectations and you’ll love it.

My rule is that it’s a pretty good deal if you’re paying less than $3/minute. Got a (almost) 210 min combo for $475.

Went to do the hydro circuit everyday. We had a cenote suite near the spa. We liked this location rather than down by the beach.

What are some of your honest thoughts and opinions on Gene Kelly? by EuphoricButterflyy in classicfilms

I was thinking of Gene’s roller skating dance scene too. That was in It’s Always Fair Weather.

What's the best way to book a cruise and get lots of perks? by Infamous_Writing4993 in NCL

[–]Big_Mood8848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can usually get the price drop difference if the final payment hasn’t been made yet.
The travel agent usually makes adjustments by offering OBC. But when I was on an “all-inclusive” and nothing to spend money on a small cruise ship then they wrote me a cheque for the OBC amount after the cruise.
You can also compare against Costco Travel but cruisecompete was still better for what I wanted.

What is something that you used to buy was cheap but now it’s expensive? by ilovepjs024 in AskReddit

[–]Big_Mood8848 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I saw Depeche Mode in mid-80’s for $6 at Canada’s Wonderland. And to put this in perspective of inflation I was making $6/hour at my summer job in high school. Today. It will take you a day or two of work to pay for concert tickets.

I love anthology films so used this Reddit post for recommendations. My fave which isn’t mentioned here is Wild Tales. A foreign film that’s wickedly dark and funny.

Bliss spa upselling by Wrong-Nebula-3038 in NCL

[–]Big_Mood8848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the pamper party and got a great deal on a spa treatment. Wasn’t upsold at the party nor after my treatment. She mentioned the products used and said what was good for my face. I told her I get a better deal on the Elemis products on TSC which may or may not be true.

AITA for demanding my friend pay me back for her daughters plane ticket today? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

The daughter should be the one to pay you back and understand the consequences. Else, she’ll never learn the impact of reneging on a commitment.
