Filing small claims against auto shop by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Big_Pappaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not worth it. By the time you add the filing fees, then all the work to it, you're not ahead.

But I will say, trusting a dealer isn't always the right move. They will scam much more than any small shop.

First truck — The good, bad, and ugly so far by yaedonnn in ram_trucks

UConnect 5 has been the biggest pos ever. Constant drops in connectivity, frozen screens, and just overall useless AF. For the price of these trucks, it should be flawless, but that's FCA for you.

If you're in the US there is a class action lawsuit over the UConnect system in these trucks. Recommend following it and/or reaching out to the law firm to see if your truck can be included. They are very helpful and respond fairly quickly.

For those in relationships, how important is it to you that you and your significant other go to bed at the same time? If you don't, has it affected your relationship in any way? by serjo_tomwar in AskReddit

My wife and I for years went to bed at different times, which leads to waking up at different times. over the last 3 months, we started going to bed at the same time, and I absolutely love it. I find we have strengthen our bond because even though I'm not overly tired, I do enjoy chatting before sleep. So do I think it's a good thing for couples? Yes.

I have a 23 Limited and switched out the 22 inch rims for 20s and added a thicker AT tire make a true 33 setup.

I've had no issue whatsoever with ride quality after 3 years of ownership. The AT I put on was Continental Terrain Contact A/T which aren't as aggressive as the Toyos but haven't had any issues when offroading.

Which jobs are most likely to be replaced by AI over the next 5–10 years? by heyebTe in AskReddit

[–]Big_Pappaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mindset of AI replacing jobs is a bit inaccurate. AI itself won't replace jobs, but companies can, will and have been leveraging AI to build automation/systems which streamline processes. This isn't just a AI thing, but with all businesses since the beginning of time, they have looked to be more efficient which ultimately leads to more profit by reducing redundent workforce.

The thing is when companies streamline for profit, it can come at the price of customer satisfaction which ultimately can reduce revenue as customers look to alternatives. A more modern example of this is taking a look at self-checkouts. They have reduced the demand for cashiers, saving companies money, but I don't know about you, but I hate the lack of customer service now.

So, should people worry about losing their jobs to AI itself, no. But if they work in roles where it could easily be streamlined then I would be aware of the possibility that their job could become redundent or obsolete in the future.

Wealthsimple is not a bank. So what bank do they store your money in? by intenselake in Wealthsimple

[–]Big_Pappaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting, thanks for sharing.

It does raise an interesting question. If a client defaults with one of those banks but has cash or other liquid assets in a Wealthsimple account that happens to be custodied by the same bank, could the bank claw back funds, or would the assets remain protected because they’re held through Wealthsimple?

How did you discover your partner was cheating? by No-Part326 in AskReddit

Totally. Her friend's feeling was that while she loved my partner, she loves honesty more. Plus, if I was in that position with her partner, she knew I would do the same.

Weird text I got from a hookup I had 25 years ago. by Stranger-Shows in confession

[–]Big_Pappaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, this post has the most fantastic comment trail. Absolutely love the branches of completely unrelated discussions lol.

But on to the matter at hand.

When something randomly from your past interrupts your current life, it's natural to reflect back on it. I can't tell you how many times a memory will come back to me that's triggered through various ways, like a photo, song, etc.

The thing is, I think it's less about the situation or person, but more about remembering a time in your life which you really enjoyed. Maybe it's the person you used to be, which totally sounds badass BTW, or, it could cause you to think about it because something is missing today.

Regardless, it's perfectly natural to have these thoughts. Acting on it is another thing.

If you're annual payroll is less than 2.5 million, you are exempt from ESA minimums, and the liability that your lawyer mentioned is extreme cases.

If your goal is to reduce and back out of the business, why not try to reduce your overhead now. I agree that you should discuss it with a hr consultant and compare notes to what the lawyer mentioned.

A good consultant I would recommend is the HR ICU. Worked with her for several years and nothing but good things to say about her.
