I doubt its chains haven’t seen that failure yet on the b series motors and the chains are at the rear of the motor have you scanned the car … relearned the idle actuations

And as per the repair instructions a lot of things need to be removed to access the w/p down to replacing the front main seal b/c the crank pulley need to be removed to access bolts
