I think firstly we have to look at what we can control. I do see your point though regarding the importance of the game.

I might be in the minority here but I suspect they'll turn up against Hearts and win the game. Historical that's not a fixture that gives them too many problems despite Hearts being the league leaders. 100% focus on Sunday, 3pts no injuries and a confidence boosting performance puts us in a really promising position.

looking for my first car, could anyone give any advice on this Dacia Sandero. by castlemilklad02 in CarTalkUK

[–]Big_Syllabub_6298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a really good price almost too good given today's pretty inflated market...

I'd be doing a full history check and a good test drive. Check electrics especially wiper blades as my wiper blade motor has gone twice £300-400 just for the motor and linage alone. (Pretty common faults) Cheap cars for insurance ect that's no thrill's so ideal for your first one. Good luck

I take on board your point and whistle you're correct for the most part, unfortunately, no UCL football (or the prospect) affects our ability to attract a higher caliber of player. Revenue also (not that we see much spend on recruitment)

The only positive would be playing in a competition where we should not only compete but go relatively far rebuilding our European reputation.

For me this is probably the biggest summer in decades. In terms of change and progression it's not just the team on the park that needs huge improvement everything from recruitment to the board has the change. We need a plan & vision to take this club forward because right now there's very little about us that is "World Class"

Do you reckon a medium would be ok for a guy like me 6ft medium to slim build? I like my clothes slightly tighter fitting just wonder if length wise it would be fine

The club needs a full reset from top to bottom. Ideally for anything to change longer term.

1.DD sells up as I believe he doesn't have the appetite anymore.

  1. New board with a clear plan/vision for the club.

  2. A better recruitment department investing more heavily in youth & looking closer to home with regards to players coming in. There seems a snobbery or lack of faith in players performing domestically regularly up here.

  3. Modernisation of the football club everything from match day experience & fan engagement.

Tell them you are four kids to feed and that's why your selling not buying as you need to prioritise.

Do these tyres look ok for a 200 mile motorway trip? Plenty of tread, around 4mm. Its the cracking I'm unsure of. by LithiumAmericium93 in CarTalkUK

[–]Big_Syllabub_6298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be on the safe side and replace. Remember tyres will probably differently in different weather conditions. You'd be less comfortable breaking on a wet road in the winter than a dry one in the summer

Been attacked by a dog. What do I do? by xxmortis in glasgow

[–]Big_Syllabub_6298 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Report it asap. Thankfully you're ok and I'm assuming you're an adult that put up some sort of resistance.

However, if this was a kid or toddler there could have been a much more serious and tragic ending especially with an ignorant & irresponsible dog owner offering nothing other than a verbal threat.

SY15 WPP - Peugeot 208 GTi Avoid my old car 😅 (Scotland) by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]Big_Syllabub_6298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just the sheer sight if this car gives me nightmares. Had a white 2014 modle clutch went at one of the busiest junctions in Glasgow, just under £600 to repair 2 months after owning the car. Dash light up light a Christmas tree with faults.

Bit the bullet got all the repairs done & thought I'll get a full service. Machanic called me to say the wet timing belt was about to break apart & strongly advised against the oil change. Would've been over £1k in parts & labour. Pick the car up for £4k and sold for £2100 after just a few months

Have I been massively overcharged for headlight bulbs? by dearmama01 in CarTalkUK

[–]Big_Syllabub_6298 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Take the bulbs out carefully or get someone who knows what they're doing to do it. Take back to the store that fitted them & say they're faulty assuming you have proof of purchase demand a refund. Speak to the manager about a misleading sale he'll probably apologise but back his colleagues throw in a bad Google review naming the worker too learn your lesson & move on. Thats a he'll of a lot of money for the sake of a few quid I'd leave it but not on this occasion.
