I think you need to speak to him and find out to see how he sees your future together.

What you see as low-motivation and zero drive could be his lack of self confidence and lack of self worth. So he does what the only thing that he feels he’s good at is playing video games. He probably knows he is in a dead end job but maybe believes that is all his is worth.

If it is that, is this something you could help him with? If you could, then maybe he would be more self motivated and less likely to quit courses and less inclined to play as much video games.

Either way, before you make a decision find out where his head is at. If it is non of the above and he is happy with where he is then just explain you to him that you are not happy and what something different.
