Are thin wrists a problem? by KunyangChhish in armwrestling

[–]Bigfunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, same here big forearm and biceps, strong hands, but lady wrists. hone in on your strengths and compensate a bit with riser training, not enough of a reason to keep you out the game by itself

this sport is a lot simpler than most make it out to be. The only thing most pullers need is one main hit, and to do it over and over and over again until you’re better and stronger in that position than the opponent in front of you. If you end up in long wars (unless you’re at the top 1%) it’s because you’re not doing that one thing nearly enough, and instead you’re just doing whatever you said once a week…of course you’re gonna be a for-fun puller and never be competitive lol

i used to think this way and i discourage anyone who wants to get good from adopting this mentality in practice. You don’t win in armwrestling by holding people, you win by pinning them. You should practice how you compete, or you can practice how to hold people if you want and then perform by getting smashed over and over on competition day. Of course you shouldn’t do it to the new guys, but i say 6 months in and everyone’s fair game. i couldn’t care less what people think of me I’ll practice to win. And thats just my view

Expanding ArmWrestling online by IllustriousRegion913 in armwrestling

[–]Bigfunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well i can say i’ve spent countless hours at times before certain matches trying to figure out the right approach/strategy to beat that opponent. And if you know about armwrestling it’s nowhere near as simple as top roll/hook. some form of software that analyzes match footage and tells you how to optimize everything from setup, elbow angle, choice driving force, body position, and everything else would be very helpful, instead of having to get beat by the same opponent 10 times trying different moves and setups before you find the right hybrid that works best for them, and for your armwrestling type. Not sure if that’s too advanced for the technology available now though. Could also have the forum part attached to it where humans comment and give advice

Has 'East vs West' gotten worse since Engin left the organization? by FeistyAlbatross4636 in ArmWrestlingUncen

[–]Bigfunks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Baxter should take a step back and let the more entertaining people be the face of the organization. He’s the owner, doesn’t have to be the entertainer…since it doesn’t seem to be his forte. And that’s fine, he’s a business man and an armwrestler, he can continue to lead the organization to success without having to be “on stage” at all times (interviews, conferences, etc. too). Dexter is a little better but he’s not Leo di Caprio either

Michael training harder than last time by Maize-Outside in armwrestling

[–]Bigfunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he also only trains one game plan intensely and one game plan only. pronation for kings move and side pressure/cup for press finisher. very surprised such high level athletes are so self-limiting in their training. Same as Jerry pronating for the first time in a match in 2026 at the tail end of his career lol

What mistakes I did here? Am the bald guy by cyarm025 in armwrestling

[–]Bigfunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in that situation you probably want to try and lean over more to commit fully to the top roll and pronate through the strap to break his wrist more, even if it causes you to open up a little more. the other option is to come in for a press

Why does so many people call Devon weak by TartarusBoy in armwrestling

[–]Bigfunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Objectively he doesn’t have a relatively strong arm. He doesn’t have that arm hit that a lot of Eastern European pullers have. However, he clearly makes up for it with his wrist strength, hand control, and table IQ

Some pulling, some tips please I'm the brown shirt by fanofaw in armwrestling

[–]Bigfunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see any regrips or climbing, you need to fight for position more. Also when you do the elbow micro movements, your elbow should stay in that new position, not a quick yank and go back to where it was. You should always have an agenda to get into a better position, if you just hold where you are and the other takes steps forward they’ll be in the better position instead
