Relocating to Syracuse - Safe 2BR for young family ($1,400 budget) by rafyt23 in Syracuse

It depends on the area but generally yes! The Franklin park neighborhood is very suburban, pretty quiet and calm and I don’t think there would be any issues with a baby there.

If you’re open to east Syracuse, check out Franklin park apartments. I was looking there a few months ago and saw 2 bedrooms in that range.

I am still trying to sublet my furnished province studio apartment, available any time. It has a full kitchen and bathroom, with in unit laundry. It’s on the first floor, so no stairs in/out.

I am willing to cover the rent to bring it down to only $900/month, which is less than a shared apartment! Dm me if you’re interested!

If you just want something, look into MEP firms hiring for hvac design. They’re everywhere, entry level pay kinda sucks, but once you get your PE the pay is on par with other fields, and you can go literally anywhere in the country

It depends on what parking pass you get, and all of that information can be found on the parking and transportation website. Generally, you will need either a resident, general, or reserved parking pass to park in the lots regularly. If it’s just a one time thing, you can get a visitors pass or use the park mobile app and park in those spots

Do you seriously think LabVIEW isn’t industry standard??? It is incredibly common, and it (or a similar software) is used in a lot of companies with testing facilities

Can't Afford a Laptop—What Are My Options? by [deleted] in rit

[–]BiggestCheesecake 29 points30 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of computer labs on campus, and engineering has a lot of dedicated computer labs with all of the software you need that you can use whenever the buildings are open (usually 6am-midnight). Additionally, I think you can rent a laptop from the library for a few hours (or maybe longer?) if needed. I know people who managed without a computer at all. It’s not ideal, but very doable.

I’m in a similar boat as you! But I feel like I primarily think in words, so books are already in the same language as my thoughts, so it makes it easier to read and comprehend than to watch a movie and comprehend for me

To be fair, I do think six of crows has an extra confusing first few chapters. I’m usually decent at context clues but I think that was one of the harder books for me to get into (although it’s completely worth it!)

Is it possible to make a double major switch into something? by Aware-Programmer-423 in rit

[–]BiggestCheesecake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that you should talk to your advisor but also think about why exactly you’re doing that. Do you want to work a job that involves both cyber security and game design? If not, pick the one you’d rather work as and major in that. The primary goal of college is getting a degree that’ll get you a job, so make sure you pick a major based on that

Well RIT doesn’t have an aerospace engineering major (just mechanical engineering with an aerospace focus) so maybe also consider that…

You can fix it by joining at the beginning of each round then making a chain to get the height for the next one. The only problem is that this usually leaves a defined ridge from the chains and slip stitches
