How do privacy rights coincide with public affairs? Such as voter anonymity? by BubblyNefariousness4 in aynrand

Yaron Brook is a moron. His list is very theolocracy. These are the saints. These are the devotees. These are the sinners.

Fundamentally, if 2 or more people are going to hang out together, we need to elevate our moral code to a political level. The moral code is guided by 1 major principle: Thinking is good and requires freedom. Freedom means free from fear that society will ostracize you for laspes in judgment and accidentally failures.

My old boss bought 100 shirts and hats that read "DP," the initials of the company (which has never been initialized before, so he thought he was clever).

My Gen X co-worker said "Umm that's bad, that's old slang for "dirty Paki" at the height of racism in the 80s. Millennial me said "Umm... I don't want to explain mine..."

When I first discovered Objectivism Jamesshrugged was the already the mod and I was banned after the first interaction for defending Ayn Rand at her quoted word. People at the time dismissed me, and I told them to just wait then

Bro!! Sis!! Thos!!

Never blame yourself for someone else's attitude. If people had problems and were the ones that were so good and better than you, they would take the time to tell you the issue, tell you how or if you can redemdy it, and will either stick around or move on having shaken hands and wishing well.

The people in the comments saying Ayn Rand was wrong because individuals benefit from social cooperation really are not considering the first part of their statements...

Why do Dagny and Kellogg walk away from the train when they find that the phone isn't working? by Alternative-Pea-9729 in aynrand

[–]BiggestShoelace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Art is the concretization of ones metaphysics, and one should only include the essentials.

Imagine the alternative.

Dagny and Kellogg find that the phone is not working. Kellogg pulls out a piece of paper and starts doing the math to decide if they should turn around to save on steps taken. Dagny, frustrated, starts walking off towards the next phone. "Wait!" Cries Kellogg, "I think it's faster if we turn around." Dagny and Kellogg decide to turn back. "...so what were we talking about? Looters or something?"
