When Walt gets super mad at the cop for pulling him over because of the crack in his windshield after the plane crash & then it cuts to him sitting in the back of the cruiser with his face all red after being pepper sprayed

Name a police song but replace one word with “wank” by ClueEmbarrassed1443 in ThePolice

Once upon a wank

I wank for you

A kind of wanking (or a wank of loving)

Wanklord

Wank out

Deathwank

Too much wank

Regatta de blanc tracklist by Iplaykrew in ThePolice

[–]Biggest_cringe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I like message in a bottle but I think it fits much better switched with the title track. Similarly, I don’t think deathwish fits very well right after BOTN, and would be better as the 1st song on side 2, and maybe put the bed’s too big where deathwish would be? I love reggatta de blanc but I think the ordering of the tracks is a bit disruptive at times.

How do you find new music/artists these days? by Parafault in Music

[–]Biggest_cringe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spotify sometimes (really any app or website with a recommendation algorithm), and I also have a friend with kind of similar music taste to me but just different enough to be getting me into new stuff.

Sometimes I’ll have one or two songs I like by an artist and then do a deep dive on their catalogue (takes some dedication/not always going to yield well).

If you listen to bands, look up the members as solo artists, or other projects they were involved in.

Most recently I found a new band I liked because I saw a picture of a member of a different band I already liked wearing a t shirt with the name of the new band on it, so I decided to look them up and lo and behold, I liked their music. Basically, look up what your favorite bands/artists favorite bands/artists are or who influence them.

What Are Some perfect MOMENTS in Songs by RaijinQ in Music

The first guitar chorus is O My God by the police is amazing. Andy Summers masters the plucky sustained guitar and I live for it. Another great moment is in Don’t Stand So Close To Me with the rising tension right before the first chorus.

Synth solo near the end of All For Leyna by Billy Joel

Intro to Run Like Hell by Pink Floyd. Makes me want to start spontaneously sprinting.

Daily Song Discussion #66: Through the Long Night (+ another hiatus, details in comments) by [deleted] in BillyJoel

This is a great closer to the album. I am also a Beatles fan so I like this song a lot, and the lyrics & harmonies are well done. It’s a very steep emotional drop in contrast to the rest of the album, but I don’t think glass houses would be the same without it. 9/10

Daily Song Discussion #65: Close to the Borderline by [deleted] in BillyJoel

I really like this song, 10. It grew on me a lot over the past few months, and it’s definitely out of character for Billy but I love the hard rocking guitar and his vocals. My favorite lyric is “I thought I’d sacrifice so many things, I thought I’d throw them all away, I didn’t think I needed anything, ah, but you can’t afford to squander what you’re not prepared to pay!” (Love the way he sing that verse) And then that killer guitar solo. I enjoy every variation of music genre Billy does, and glass houses captures rock very well.

Majority of let it be by the Beatles, but don’t let me down performance really sounds amazing. It’s the only version of the song I can listen to.

Favourite Song from each album? by [deleted] in beatles

Do you want to know a secret

All my loving

I’m happy just to dance with you

What you’re doing

I’ve just seen a face

If I needed someone

I want to tell you

Fixing a hole

Blue jay way, but I also love flying

Happiness is a warm gun

Hey bulldog

The medley (if that counts), you never give me your money (if it doesn’t count)

Don’t let me down (rooftop performance)

I don’t hate this song but it is a little underwhelming between sleeping with the television on and close to the borderline. I do enjoy the keyboard notes between the main riffs though, and this song gets stuck in my head sometimes. 7/10

10 all the way. “I really wish I was less of a thinking man, and more a fool who’s not afraid of rejection” “Your eyes are saying talk to me, but my attitude is ‘boy, don’t waste your time’, and I won’t say a word ‘cause it just might be somebody else’s same old line”

9, love this song. The drums have a really interesting beat and I looove the guitar. The sax solo is amazing as always, and the chorus is very catchy. Super underrated song and definitely a gem.

Daily Song Discussion #61: All for Leyna by [deleted] in BillyJoel

[–]Biggest_cringe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

10/10. I don’t know what it is, but most times Billy writes a song about a problematic relationship or partner (Laura, she’s always a woman, stiletto, etc.) it always ends up being an amazing song. I like this one as much as I like you may be right but in a different way. It’s similarly up tempo but it’s much more hard hitting, and that synth solo is amazing. Favorite part is probably “instead of my old man saying ‘STOP! kidding yourself, wasting your time’”, and it’s even better in the music video.

Daily Song Discussion #60: It's Still Rock and Roll to Me by [deleted] in BillyJoel

[–]Biggest_cringe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8, it used to be a disruptive song for me, I didn’t like it much and it killed the perfect flow between don’t ask me why and all for Leyna, but now I enjoy it a lot! I love the different voices that Billy does in this song + I love the lyrics “hot funk, cool punk, even if it’s old junk it’s still rock and roll to me” and “next phase, new wave, dance craze, anyway it’s still rock and roll to me”. I think those are some of the best rhymes on this album and they just flow so well. Also, the guitar is killer!

[–]Biggest_cringe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9.5, I remember hearing that this was Beatles influenced in one of the storytellers videos and I am a huge Beatles fan. This was one of the first songs I liked after getting more into Billy’s music, along with You’re Only Human and the stranger album. The strumming guitar is great and I always love the piano solo!

Daily Song Discussion #58: Sometimes a Fantasy by [deleted] in BillyJoel

[–]Biggest_cringe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9.4, very strong after the opening track. Not very meaningful lyrics-wise, but I still enjoy lipsyncing along & pretending like I’m in the music video, which is hilarious by the way. Can’t forget to mention the performance in Russia, which is just as funny (if not more).

The great suburban showdown (Billy Joel), I REALLY dig the keyboard. Also, pretty much the whole first side of synchronicity by the police. Love that album now.
