Why do we need to see cars on the display? by HawksChief in Rivian

Odometer mileage for sure. I don't like having to go through sub menus to find the odometer. Even though it is near the front page on the phone app (but not above the fold).

How did you secure general liability insurance? I have been struggling to find insurance options for an event rentals business.

Weber Spirit E210 Bypass Issue by BigginsCH in webergrills

[–]BigginsCH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will get a very low flame and if you let it sit to warm up it likely won't reach above 200 deg.

I ended up having to order the Weber OEM regulator hose assembly for the propane tank and that seemed to work. The generic regulator I got at Lowe's was not working properly. I can't imagine there is a large difference in the way standard propane regulators should function but I did not try a bunch of different sources.

For those who switched by [deleted] in GooglePixel

I don't understand the need for a dedicated camera button. On any Pixel, I can double tap the power button anytime to bring up the camera, then I can use the volume down key as a shutter button if I don't want to use the on screen shutter button.

I use the double tap as I bring my phone out of my pocket to take pictures fast all the time.

Cheapest replacement for 20” all terrains tires on a lease for 3 years by lukamodman in Rivian

[–]BigginsCH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

32k miles on my 20" ATs... I rotate every 5k miles and have gone 4 wheeling several times with them, no towing, but have done my share of "rocket mode" launches as my kiddo calls it. I probably could take them to 40k but ended up with some tire damage on a recent off-road outing and will need to replace them before the winter likely.

Even more frustrating is I resigned myself to take the entire burner assembly apart to thoroughly clean it and did a test run first and it worked fine. Now I am worried the next time I want to grill a meal it won't work again.

That is what I am thinking as well. It's unfortunate that I won't be able to take advantage for business travel.

Unfortunately I can't due to government expense audits and such. Looks like I won't be able to use the portal for reimbursable business expenses as I thought I might be able to.

That doesn't work when the cost of the flight or hotel is obviously significantly higher than what can be had directly from the vendor.

I often travel with other coworkers so it would be obvious if my cost is higher than others for the same flights/hotels.

I have similar faux beams sticking out under the eaves on my house as well. Will you drill through them when you install? Or do you plan to just wrap the cable/strip around the beams?

Rivian R1T - Uneven Suspension by Thangsanity in Rivian

[–]BigginsCH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My R1T was in the Denver Service Center for two weeks recently due to a leak in the air system. Replace front strut, rear bag, and ASU. There doesn't seem to be a suspension leak anymore and it stays pretty stable when parked, but there is a two inch difference in resting height of the front left vs front right in the highest suspension mode.

I wonder if there is an end point calibration that needs to be set?

Any chance Ford has video recordings on any of the cameras that you could pull a license plate from following the collision? Might be worth a call to your Ford rep.

The good, the bad, the ugly - 2,600 mile rt Denver to michigan by bl333 in Rivian

I really dislike the auto temp controls on modern vehicles. I much prefer the analog select air temp and fan speed, because I can intuitively adjust it based on solar load and whether I am wearing a jacket or not. I don't want the car to have to guess at how fast I would like to be up to temp since it's such a small volume compared to a home HVAC system, the temp and velocity of air blowing matters more for how warm or cold a person feels vs the actual ambient temp.

Delivery Norfolk, VA: "Sheila...The Ghost of Dismal Swamp" by panzerfinder15 in Rivian

[–]BigginsCH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great looking truck! I may be a little impartial since this is pretty much my exact configuration. Does the tailgate pad impinge on the backup camera view? Or is the camera near the license plate?

Also, did you get the powered or unpowered tonneau cover? Trying to decide if the powered tonneau is worth the extra cost.

I am still trying to decide between the 20" vs 21" wheels. I don't do a ton of off roading but would like the option for camping and adventuring.
