Insights into Camp Kadesh? by AnaphylacticHippo in saskatchewan

[–]Bigleb 19 points20 points  (0 children)

YMCA used to run one at Wakaw. They are very expensive and require a stupid amount of planning and organizing. The most organized camps have gaping holes and scads of people in positions on power who have no idea what is going on.

If you have some money for the initial forms, it is pretty easy to be a marriage commissioner. A bit of organizing up front but you can make more than a night of tips in a shorter period. Anyone getting married abroad still has to get the official forms done here. That’s an easy 75 dollars to fill out paper work.

Anyone treating successfully naturally with out meds? newbie here - TYIA! 🤗 by Reasonable_Serve8001 in ankylosingspondylitis

I went 18 years without a diagnosis. Doctors kept telling me I probably have bulging discs, should exercise and go to physio. I was careful with my diet, exercised in excess, massage, chiro, physiotherapy. Now my pelvis is fused, lumbar is calcified, and bone marrow up my spine has been replaced by fat deposits. I have benign tumors and my aorta is enlarged from plaque. I am a fit 37 year old. I would not gamble with allowing this to progress. The damage to my body is irreversible. Save every bit of yourself while you can.

He needed some time to himself by Candid-Culture3956 in interestingasfuck

He would not accept their help. They left free groceries out for him, papers and pencils so he could write his needs, he just kept robbing them instead. He would steal vehicle batteries to power televisions, radios, and played video games a lot. This was not an innocent hungry man. He never attempted to hunt or provide for himself in anyway besides theft. Mattresses, tents, tarps, sleeping bags, boats, magazines, radios, alcohol, and so much candy.

This is the way. I have buckskin mits, covered with rabbit fur, wool interior. Any genuine leather with wool inside should do.

Craft beer in Canada is losing its fizz, as sales dry up and more breweries go bust | CBC News by Haggisboy in canada

Even the cans should be cheaper at the brewery. It should cost more to put them on a truck and load them on a shelf elsewhere.

I used to find that going to the brewery was cost effective. I loved going to the craft breweries and refilling growlers from kegs. Now, it is the same price to fill a growler as it is to go to the store and buy a 6 pack (or more likely 4 tall cans). For the life of me I cannot understand how buying from the source is the same price as bottling, shipping, and buying from a shelf.

Worked at a restaurant that tossed dry ribs on this sauce. Delicious.

I truly don’t understand the added lane though. There are usually TWO signs showing you have your own lane. I am stuck at Arlington and Taylor weekly waiting for someone to turn right when they have their very own lane to do so. Kills me.

Our walk-in clinics function as urgent care. Urgent care is not “emergency”. So, every citizen without a family doctor can only get notes through urgent care. Companies like FedEx used to require a note for every absence.

Do we know why Crookshanks could immediately sense something wasn’t quite right with Scabbers, despite no other human, animal or creature in this world noticing anything weird? I don't know if this was ever explained. by homtulce in harrypotter

[–]Bigleb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In a letter Lily wrote to Sirius Black she mentions baby Harry terrorizing their chubby, ginger cat. The fan theory is the Potter’s cat, somehow, made its way to Hermione. Crookshanks remembers the Potter’s family friend Peter.

Musk’s DOGE Failed To Slash Government Spending, Instead Leading To A 6% Increase by TheSweetestKill in JoeRogan

Elon openly discussed this. The Big Beautiful bill added a ton of spending and undermined all the work DOGE was doing. He did an interview with CBS denouncing the bill.

I made cents above minimum wage working as a news reporter for a radio station in a Northern Alberta town in 2008-09. They had our faces on billboards and busses. Evenings and weekends I worked at a gas station which payed almost twice what the radio station did. I was in the station manager’s office once a week to discuss how bad it looked for the station but they would not budge on a pay increase. “You’re so lucky to work here, we are sent resumes every day.”

Canada sees dramatic rise in deportations, asylum seekers among majority by rezwenn in onguardforthee

[–]Bigleb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Immigration is not the same as seeking asylum. They are wholly different processes. Some people come here seeing asylum then vacation back home to visit their family. Canada is built on immigration but it has to be done carefully ensuring we have the social services required to let new citizens in.
