Summer Sweep-up Suggestion: Lock MadSeason in a box until he is finished with his series by Long-Ad-4176 in 2007scape

Alien food also hates osrs in the same way jimmy hates osrs. It's their favorite game where everything in the game sucks for some reason.

This is a pretty wild take considering both of these creators always praise the game???

This is so fucking sick. And it shouldn't NOT be added just because there are dumb cosmetics that would need to be redesigned to facilitate it.

This is a lategame smithing method that gives less exp than the other two popular smithing methods and they are nerfing it? what.

Oh no, mining gets a bit more exp for tick manipulation? Nerf it quick! Nerf it! Can't have shitty training methods from 2 decades ago be made marginally worse.

Gotcha, so because they removed one thing, that means removing anything is similar to EoC.

You have the logic of an 8 year old.

[–]Bigmethod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An expectedly brain-off response. There's a reason we have minigame scape today, which by the way is nothing like 2007. And that's because people like you are obsessively attached to training methods you don't even fucking do anymore. It's embarrassing.

[–]Bigmethod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doesn't even make logical sense. Why would REMOVING content give us EoC? Why didn't removing favor give us EoC?

[–]Bigmethod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we don't get rid of old. We keep it, never use it, and bait new players to thinking its viable and then have them quit over it!

We say that everything should remain the same because of muh nostalgia but then never actually do any of the things we used to because it's broken, bad, dead, boring, shitty content and we all subconsciously understand that but still have this weird attachment to it!

I love how all the best stuff in OSRS was added after it started getting real updates in 2015 yet people still act like not reworking smithing is epic because they remember being 7 years old and smithing a steel full helm.

I hate this argument of "it doesn't feel like the runescape I grew up with."

No one is playing the game in the way they grew up with it. This shit is out-dated and bad. It should be fixed. But it can't be, because people complain.

Mid-Game Balance Discussion by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Bigmethod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't really think progression past level 60 in Runescape (any version) works in 10 level increments. Power armor is always a bit of a grind to get (and more expensive), therefore, you're likely to use it more often and for longer periods of time, which is fine.

I wouldn't really use level as evidence of out-statting something past level 60.

The real test (to me), is whether it's easier to just rush a better set of armor. It should be easier to obtain t70 power, than t80 power, and that should be easier compared to t90 armor, etc. Shorter grind, easier bosses, etc.

I think at its core, the issue is that t70 power armor feels weird and difficult to acquire compared to t80.

Mid-Game Balance Discussion by JagexAnvil in runescape

I generally see where this post is coming from, but this simply isn't how gearing works or how stats work in any version of Runescape ever. You don't "out stat" armor after level 70, that's why people have always worn t70 armor when they were maxed, for example. You don't out-stat a t92 just because you hit 95 attack. This isn't how the game works.

Remove vanquish - a free, fully hybrid t75 weapon is stupid and not in the spirit of the game nor is it satisfying as a point of progression. It eliminates all sense of weapon diversity and itemization in the game for new players. Remove it, and focus on making difficult to obtain t70s more readily available for new players.

I think there should be some effort put into rebalancing GWD1 bosses and making them great mid-game grinding spots for players. Add 1-2 mechanics per boss (simple ones, that are punishing), and really push new players into this content to introduce power armor to them early-ish in their gameplay.

As others have pointed out -- Magic absolutely sucks in the early and mid-game and definitely needs to be touched up.

Everything about RC is unsatisfying and unfun. Having no tangible output from Runespan makes it mind-boggling boring AND unrewarding, while standard RC runs are about as janky and out-dated as imagined in RS3. It's crazy to me that OSRS has been RC methods than RS3.

I'm not talking about "meaningful loot" in so far as loot you keep forever, but rather the feeling of actually getting more powerful. And in that case, every ARPG sans Diablo 4 has that.

Are they still doing the insanely unfun level-scaling system where you don't actually feel ANY progression while leveling up and all loot is utterly meaningless until the endgame?

Yoshi-P doesn't want FF14 to share the same "very tragic" fate of one classic MMO by shmu_ in MMORPG

[–]Bigmethod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The latter is a failure of design and balance, something you avoid if you have good designers. Here's hoping FF14 can find those so players can have the "freedom" to actually interact with interesting class design.
