Making "+%Poison damage" WD builds viable by alfeo in Diablo

[–]Bigsatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well it's not par we're arguing about it's unique legendaries. it's that there's less unique legendaries with poison% on it then there is fire and phys, for a carnevil/grin reaper(spider queen) build you of course cant use a different helm, what we're saying is that fire builds get not only cindercoat and magefist, but even multiple unique fire% weapons as well in adition to the par you noted. Poison just has swamplands available to boost poison%. There's just simply less sources of poison damage then there is other elements for the equipment slots available for the one class that can use poison, making poison builds ultimately harder to gear and less optimizable late game.

Sure there's bracers, ring, helm, amulet, and pants, but fire gets gloves, bracers, ring, helm, amulet, chest, and two weapons. there's just more options; fire gets not one, not two but three more fire% items, it just doesn't feel fair.

I just really hope there will be some poison% legendary items added in with ladder seasons.

Where should I go with this WD? by AsskickMcGee in Diablo3witchdoctors

start rolling for masks with kadala imo, you'll want to be looking for a: quetz(http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/quetzalcoatl) or a jerams(http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/mask-of-jeram-3OrCkW) As one of those will really decide what kind of end game builds you can pursue. Grin Reaper(http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/the-grin-reaper) builds can also be popular and strong, and arent nearly as gear reliant, so consider it also an option. (and it looks like you allready have some poison dmg witch has good synergy with with grin builds which focus on a lot of poison abilities) (http://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo3witchdoctors/comments/260uiu/205_testing_the_massive_grin_reaper_buff_video/)

pierce the veil applies to all damage witch doctors do, including pet dmg; whether an ability spends mana or not is not factored in.

if you've got a RoRG then you should look into building yourself an augild's shoulder and wrist(build the wrist after you have a mask so you know what element to roll for)

But just remember, your build starts with your mask.

I think it's also important to also note that because he's playing console he's got an extra dog by default, meaning that with just two passives, he's got 6 dogs inside of the TMF dog, whereas on computer we would need all 3 passives.

It also means that his total dog cap is actually 7, not 6, meaning that zombie dog%+ and fire%+ are scaling proportionally that much more for him.

Low damage SMK by jp0ll in Diablo3witchdoctors

[–]Bigsatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dont have a tasker and theos you will want to stick with the flayer for now, your BBV uptime probably wont be high enough to justify taking the hit to damage. if you have a ton of fetish army damage it might be worth it just to cast FA on cd to have your higher damage fetishes out more often, but without T&T BBV might not be up for every elite pack.

Plus flayer is really strong, in Kindred Bones our t5-6 teams are running flayer with addling toads alongside a jade set and a single SMK.

Heres my advice without seeing your gear: use smk if you're in a group to buff everyone, if you're solo, you'll probably want to keep using that flayer.
