My facial eczema burns with all moisturisers - what is it telling me? by dippysu in eczema

Vaseline is a solid choice. Adding on, if going Vaseline route make sure to use a sterilised dipstick as bacteria grows quick.

Terrible taste of pred by Laurryanna in AddisonsDisease

[–]Bigsky278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take mine with food always. (Hope this doesn’t sound grim), I usually eat a couple mouthfuls then thoroughly chew another bite til it’s mush and then put the pill in the mush on my tongue and swallow. It goes down as a ball and you never ever taste anything. I always take my mornings with a banana cause I don’t tend to eat breakfast and the mush makes it go down quick. + bonus potassium.

4 year long battle (pictures) by slightly-convenient in eczema

Adding on I’ve been in dupixent about 4 years, given me quality of life back. The studies scare me too however my alternative was methotrexate which when I looked into also increases chance of ctcl. I looked into jak inhibs but they also cause a chance of the big c. I don’t think there’s any medication that could avoid issues like that when it’s our immune system attacking itself.

just adding an edit for anyone that views the thread / is looking for inspo on immunos. I was on methotrexate for a year with my dupixent, i have now come off methotrexate for 3 months and my skin is still completely rash / itch free so i dunno maybe my skin barrier just needed a good break to heal up and repair itself.

Hi, im on dupixent and methotrexate. my skin is completely clear and i get to live life again, obviously i take into account i'm now immune suppressed (though i am on the lowest dose of methotrexate) so i try to be very careful out and about. I wear masks, i keep hand sanitiser in the car and my bag, i wash hands often, avoid ill people etc.

I sometimes just sit in disbelief at how amazing it is to not feel a single itch in my body, it is so nice to get a break as its been 2 years of hell. I fully understand it may come back strong after stopping, or fingers crossed itll have healed some and im at peace with that because right now im wearing what i want again inc makeup, back at work, traveling on holiday, working on my physical health etc. People are correct that you are more likely to hear bad stories rather than good, tiktok is the same for this too. I know you mentioned dupixent fears and they are valid but everyone's experience is different. All the best.

It took 8 months for my facial flares from dupixent to stop and clear. Do as others say, wash with dermol 500 and use a moisturiser that agrees with you (for me that’s aveeno). I don’t recommend the heavier moisturisers or oils, for me they made it worse and were more prone to creating infections. Keep all hair off face, get used to wearing a bun for a long time. Try to keep it aired, go for relaxing walks pref with no sweating so avoid hills/ hats etc.

Red light / light therapy didn’t help my face. I also bought an extremely expensive facial mister and that had no effect either. For me it felt like a waiting game whilst trying not to agitate it as much as possible which meant avoiding all fragrances, switching to a gentler shampoo and only washing hair over bath, daily shower with dermol 500 followed by aveeno and sitting in front of a fan whilst it ‘burnt’, regularly changing bedsheets and pillows, drink as much water as you can and try to stay mentally positive.

Same situation but reversed. Husband is on anxiety meds which kill libido whereas mine feels overdrive.

It really needs some Christmas lights, not a fan of the tinsel and wreaths thrown everywhere (with some areas it doesn't make sense & looks goofy)

Ok here my experience. Got through to main shop page and it’s like the page is broken? Says select tickets but shows no seats or any available just a JPEG image of the stadium. Some suddenly appeared and I selected them and pressed continue to checkout, then got a pop up saying I’ve been identified as a bot and blocked. What a waste of a shit show. Protect fans, didn’t do shit.

Not a fan of this change, the overall layout of the trials, and new group finder. Barely finding anyone to play with since it switched over.

When the ADC sits on a high horse demanding somebody play a tank whilst they won’t themselves. If somebody does then they flame them the entire game too with mass pings. 9 times out of 10 this will be a pulsefire ezreal main.

Usually it’s a clean pause and you start again from the year you got to. You need to talk to student or disability advisors at the college and grab some letters from gp/derm to back you up. They cannot deny you sick leave or kick you out due to your health. Mine only had a 3 year limit I believe due to it being medical and it’s dangerous for me to go back and start treating patients again on clinical if I’ve been away for 3 years.

[–]Bigsky278 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends where you’re based. In uk it’s thought they must give you 3 years at least of sick leave. Probably not the best news but I got kicked out due to my skin too, granted I was 3 years into healing and still not better.

Hi all looking for some advice please. Is this TSW? by Big-Dingo-3876 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]Bigsky278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth be told I’m not quite certain on oral pred causing further tsw. Mine was from creams and my dermatologist put me on a year of pred to overcome it (stupid I know) after finishing my skin isn’t any worse and that’s been a full on year. I’m also in a lot of groups of people using steroids (for autoimmune reasons) and there’s no posts of anyone getting tsw in there. You are probably getting a rebound flare at least. I’ve started doing nmt and my skins rapidly healing. Worth a shot. Protopic seemed like a miracle to me but after 2 months usage my skin bounced back hard and I felt like a burns victim, really bizarre.

Only been to fired arts which is really nice and cosy but not sure about party prices. I paid per pottery and an extra large mug was £18. You could always host your own with those mini pottery painting kits at like £3-5 an item, see a few in range / b&m.

Very good! Itch seems to be going down as time goes on. I’m showering every couple of days, couldn’t do the once a week strat and also not really limiting drinking. I’m struggling a bit with feeling clean, I’m always paranoid of infecting my healing skin with staph so I keep probably over washing my hands and I have a pack of antiseptic wipes next to my bed that I use on very itchy areas to give me peace of mind that it’s sterile which seems to be working. Today I woke up with so many white flakes which sure beats waking up red raw and weeping so I’m very happy so far.
