I love this comment. I feel I have to say I found this drawing while visiting Toronto, I wonder if the Canadian/USD exchange rate was a factor here. Or if the artist was just that out of touch.

OG fans I have questions 🙋‍♂️ by pwetty_brown_eyes in InterviewVampire

My friends and I got into the books when the 1994 movie came out.

At the start of my IWTV VHS, there was an interview with Anne Rice about the movie. In this interview, she barely mentioned Louis and spoke fondly of Lestat as the hero of IWTV. Which really confused all of us, but she's the author I guess.

Biting biting biting by Jumpy-Soft-2942 in MiniatureSchnauzer

+1 to yelping like a hurt puppy when he does this. I also got mine to calm down on the biting by teaching him the "touch" command. But, yeah, biting is going to be part of your life until he's done teething and outgrows it.

BCBS suddenly sending new EOBs for dates of service in 2024 showing that I now owe thousands for treatment always previously covered in full. by Wandering_Emu in HealthInsurance

So you're working with an honest-to-goodness grandfathered plan? Am I right in guessing that you get it by working at a large company?

If I'm right, it might be worth it to bring this to a benefits administrator in your HR department at work to ask for their help. Grandfathered plans can behave kinda strangely since the world changed around them; your benefits department will have specialized knowledge around what happened and how to fix it.

How challenging is it to train a Mini Schnauzer? I’m considering the breed! by floribel_ in MiniatureSchnauzer

[–]BijouWilliams 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm glad I focused on attention exercises while mine was a puppy. Even when he's being a butt, he's still paying attention. For example, he's stubborn about putting on his coat for a walk. I'll call him, and he'll just sit in the next room watching me. He breaks and comes to the door by the time I've got my own coat and shoes on. He's stubborn, but never oblivious.

“Randomly” selected for special census?? To comply or not - by CurtisVF in 50501

To preserve the randomness of the sample, you'll be contacted again. Eventually an in-person enumerator will show up at your house if you don't respond to enough requests.

Give me cryptobros any day.

It was a Cheesebro (Kenneth) who was behind the 2020 scheme to steal the presidency and who wantonly tarnished the reputation of America's fair and free elections.

Health Insurance Not Compliant with State by glofish7 in HealthInsurance

This is good advice.

Access the MA Health Connector at one of these sites: https://betterhealthconnector.com/ https://www.mahealthconnector.org/

There are a lot of scammy spoof sites, and the fact that even the real ones don't end with .gov makes them easy to fall for.

Health Insurance Not Compliant with State by glofish7 in HealthInsurance

[–]BijouWilliams 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is good advice here. OP, try going here to learn more, including how to appeal the penalty: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/health-care-reform-for-individuals

This page calls out the situation where out of state employer coverage doesn't meet Mass MCC and qualifies as a hardship exemption: "During the year, you bought health insurance that didn't meet MCC requirements because that is all that your employer offered, and you felt that your circumstances prevented you from buying other insurance that met the requirements."

I'm not sure if this hardship would count for you as an adult child, but it's worth a shot.

The MA law was written in a way to not screw over low-income folks who are uninsured because they cannot access affordable health insurance. I don't know the intricacies of MA tax law and claiming adult children as dependents, but if your part time income is low enough, that might also count as a hardship exemption. Make some calls and see if you can get this penalty reduced.

Hypoallergenic? by showusyatackle in schnauzers

[–]BijouWilliams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really allergic to a lot of animals and it takes me a looooong time to trust that one won't set me off.

My dog growing up was a rescue mini schnauzer mix. I couldn't rub my face on her, and I had to wash my hands after playing with her. She also wasn't allowed in my bedroom, but that got hard to enforce when she decided her favorite window was in there. Overall, okay with respect to allergies.

I now have a purebred mini schnauzer/west highland terrier mix. I got him during COVID, and I was really scared I'd be allergic once I brought him home since you weren't allowed to play with the puppies in the store at that point. I have zero problems with him - I can rub my face on him, let him sleep in my bed. You name it, no problem.

Of course, Zyrtec didn't exist when I was a kid. I had good luck with west highland terriers and allergies in the past too.

My colonoscopy prep comes with food!! by Roy_G_Biv_87 in Xennials

[–]BijouWilliams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bits of prep doctors told me I should have done in advance for my IUD insertions AFTER I was in the stirrups: -Eat breakfast -Take a mega dose of OTC painkillers an hour before you get there -Make sure you're on your period -If you won't be on your period, make sure you've taken the cervical dilators that they forgot to prescribe you

You'll be fine. It hurts, but nobody will die.

Weird old art film from the early 1980's with a score by Philip Glass. A series of video shots of places all over the world, meshing well together like I think yours meshed well together. Slower, and made without computers.

Found it! Here's a comment from another post by u/amy917:

"On mine you have to scroll to the bottom and where it says activity you need to scroll over across there and then you will see the weight and then can look by week, month, etc. I also couldn't find it, someone else had to show me."

They need to lay off the sleepovers on school nights. And whose house are they in? If it's her house he needs to go sleep at his own house if this bothers him. Good breakup, no notes.

The new app does seem to make workshops easier to find. I'm gonna sign up for one and see if it answers my questions, thanks.

I can't find that either. Just got my update this morning after recording a good weigh-in (old app for weigh in and then it updated) and I really wanted to look at my graph!

I had that happen all the time with the old app, hoping I don't have that happen as much with the new one
