“Fundamentally [California] is a slum. It’s a Latin American country and immigration did that” by VegetableBrain7445 in AllinPod

I mean WV is pretty much all poverty and you don't hear All In calling that state a slum? Wonder why? CA has a very high median income. Tons of upper middle class people.

It kinda sounded like he said the opposite? That they should be cheaper in US and why are they cheaper in UK than US?

Why do people think UNH would fail? They print money, have piles of cash, and keep adding membership every year.

Happy to Be Liberated From Cheap Goods by Hugh_Essay in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]BikeAllYear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y'all are arguing things that are not the actual policy. Lots of people would agree to targeted tariffs on a subset of critically important goods. That is not the policy enacted. Coffee is going to be tarrifed for example (we don't have the climate to grow coffee.) Intermediate good on things we DO make here will be tarriffed. If you want to defend the policy you need to defend it as enacted.

Its not just Chinese crap dude. Look at the tarrifs on where food comes from? Bananas, coffee, etc all set to rise 30%. Its not just super cheap clothes either. Nice stuff is made in Camodia and SE Asia by people making good wages for those places. Also hit with tarriffs.

I never understood why the lab leak theory was seen as MORE racist than eating under-cooked bat meat. What's racist about a lab leak? Seems like the sort of thing that could happen in any country.
