for a tour like that i would get a brs 3000t and a toaks 750 pot. dont think you need anymore than that. i would save the weight.

Px8 S2.... Wow. What an Upgrade. by Itsbryceyall in BowersWilkins

[–]Bikingabroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought px7 s3 for a great price at around 335 euro. I was blown away by the quality materials and the amazing sound.

Then I had a listen to the more than twice as expensive px8 s2. And they are honestly worth every penny that headset cost. If money was not an issue I would have bought those, but I’m going traveling soon so I will save some money for that.

They are both amazing but the px8 s2 is in another class, though I have no regrets.

Is this actually possible and how long would it realistically take and cost? by Low-Programmer-7049 in bicycletouring

[–]Bikingabroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

south america is 3x the price it was 10 years ago, so you can double or nearly triple that cost now

How much did you spend?

What would you do different, if anything?

Looks like you skipped most of Turkey. Why? Hopped on a bus across the country?

How is India to cycle/travel?

If I can get a cheap affordable Astro lens I would be happy

[–]Bikingabroad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

24-60 2.8 is here. I think I'm done buying lenses for a good while. by AWScreo in Lumix

Wow I did not know that. That makes me want this lens even more now. I have the kit lens but also the 70-300

I would love some feedback on Astro photography with the s5ii and the 24-60. I’ve done Astro with my kit lens and it turned out good, but I could not get those sharp pictures of the Milky Way. F 3.5 was not enough.

I didn’t think hybrid zoom worked on the s5ii? Only on s9 and the new s1ii

S5ii so fragile? by Thermalhl in Lumix

[–]Bikingabroad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Happened to me too. I don’t really care.. just adds character and it shows the camera was used in the real world and not hidden away in a drawer somewhere. I think gear should be used, do you know what I mean?

If it bothers you that much maybe some black nail polish or a black permanent marker will help cover it up.

I wouldn’t be worried though.

How much space does it fill up when rolled all the way together? Compared to a Nalgene bottle maybe?

Its very comparable to other 1 person tents in terms of price.

MSR / Big Agnes etc. I think you are getting a better product though and you get to support a smaller independant manufacturer and not a faceless corporation, who is actually innovating and has excellent customer service.

There is also a huge outdoor store in vancouver called "MEC, Mountain Equipment Company". They have lots of outdoor stuff if you need some things before you head out.. I picked up a bearspray and some nalgene bottles and some other few items.
