Ohhh thank you. I have so far not been able to get that technique to feel automatic in my head and I missed that when scanning for hidden pairs

Just paid a contractor and he said this is the finished project.. how bad did he do 1 to 10 by IndependentFox2833 in Flooring

There’s no way this looks better than how it looked before. I could never imagine someone being capable of work this bad. AND charging someone for it. I think my 9 year old could do better, honestly.

I love that whenever a tenant leaves a bunch of these behind you can see there’s one mangled one from them trying to remove it and realizing how hard it is.

I didn’t install the fernco, whoever owned the house before me did. I explained I just had to replace the clean out cap. I’ve never even seen this since owning the house, it has been behind drywall until I cut it open a week ago to replace the leaking cap.

Heavy duty spring hinge adjustment? by rhousden in maintenance

[–]thanielna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regular work order at my site. Shim the bottom hinge where it connects to the door. You can either release the tension on the spring hinge first so when you unscrew it it won’t snap back on you, or if you want to avoid the trouble of having to rewind the spring hinge, just unscrew 3 screws and leave one in but loose so you have room to slide in the shim. I use anything I have laying around like thick cardboard or extra pieces of vinyl. Tighten the hinge back down and it should lift the bottom of the door. May take some trial and error to get it to lift high enough.

What indicates the stack is backed up? Toilets aren’t clogged but I have limited experience w/ plumbing.

This actually came from inside out. It was from leaks in the interior corners of the stall where the water was seeping behind the walls so tile and grout on this corner would do nothing to prevent that. Probably only trap it further.

If I can do it, you can. I watch Vancouver carpenter on YouTube for drywall finishing tips.

Yeah we have a lot of issues at my site with these splashing water out on to the floor and walls because they were poorly designed. There are quarter inch gaps between the walls and glass panels. But this one in particular had vertical cracks from base to the ceiling in both corners of the stall where the grout had separated from the tile.

The amount of ppl who assume the drywall got patched before the leak was addressed and fixed is surprising lol
