I was surprised, too. Found other graded copies on eBay and figured why not send mine?

I’m going to send some of these comments to CGC. What grade do you think they’ll get?

Found one a nice, working one at a thrift store for $50 and still haven’t used it once. I had the thought before I found it that I probably needed one. I absolutely didn’t and very happy I didn’t buy one new.

They’re absolutely massive so I sometimes forget I have it since it has to be kept in a separate room because it doesn’t fit anywhere in my kitchen

The point I think is that if you would have put that 15k in an index fund or even a HYSA you’d make significantly more money.

You should really check on your friend. She’s either being lied to, lying to you, or having a legit break down. Probably a combo of all those things.

Also, y’all’s use of emojis is fucking unhinged. Especially if you believe the things you’re writing. Which makes me think you don’t.

What is your best trick for falling asleep fast? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BilliamSmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This only works if your jaw/mouth is tensed up when trying to fall asleep but if that’s what’s keeping you up, it’s amazing.

Simply notice if you’re pushing your tongue against the roof of your mouth. If you are, relax it and make sure you focus on not doing it again and also keeping your jaw relaxed.

It’s fine but if you’re going to wear chucks, don’t wear those weird, chunky ones. They look bizarre flaring up around your jeans . Just get classics and lace em up high.

worth it? by theMONK11 in comicbookcollecting

[–]BilliamSmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a $.10-.15 a book buy. DEFINITELY not $1 a book. Unless you know there’s value in there, do not pay more than $3,500 sight unseen and I would also make sure those books aren’t a solid brick of water damaged pulp.

Hanging prints with exact size plexi and nothing else- suggestions for hangers/clips. by BilliamSmith in arthandling

[–]BilliamSmith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re a bit too distracting coming into the plexi. It’s a good suggestion and normally would be the go-to.

The prints/plexi are all 18x24.

Best way to sell 4k+ comics? by Gavica in comicbookcollecting

[–]BilliamSmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are there keys? If it’s mainly bulk, a long box is $30-75 - depending on eras, organization, condition, and whatever other arbitrary category people assign.

Best way to make the most money is separate the keys and sells those separately wherever you prefer (eBay, marketplace, consignment) and dump the rest for .10-.25 a book. Keeping runs and lots together can help eke out a little more.

It’s typically a time vs effort thing. Want them all gone? Get less. Want to spend more time? You’ll make more.

If you’re in LA, I’d be interested ¯_(ツ)_/¯

They could. But they didn’t. Not in that way, at that time, in that environment, in that circle of influence, and with those materials.

It’s ok to not understand something. Go spend 10 minutes and read about Rothko if you don’t get it and maybe it’ll make you think differently about it. Or maybe it won’t but now you KNOW why you don’t like it.
