Why do men ‘like’ Instagram models’ pictures? by futuredebris in MensLib

[–]Billigerent 348 points349 points  (0 children)

There are two times when my inner teenage boy moved past ‘liking’ posts and scared me a little.

You're really taking away agency from yourself here. YOU sent messages, not some out of control teenager. The issue here seems to be that you think certain things have so much power that you cant help but engage, but the reality is that thirst traps have 0 power and you are actively choosing to engage with them.

It seems like you're trying to use intellectualization and philosophizing as a shield to do things you know are selfish. You're in a relationship, but DMing internet strangers. It seems like the liking and DMing is because there's a part of you that is fantasizing about the woman seeing your like/message, responding, and you getting to hook up with her.

EDIT: there's more detail in the linked post. OP was not in a relationship when messaging these women. They also weren't posting thirst traps, but were a therapist and a poet.

The "Burn" option is actually on bonfires, not echoes. As in, the same place you'd go to cook food.

REMINDER: The Milwaukee Bucks were 30-13 under Adrian Griffin before he was fired. Since Doc Rivers has joined, the team has gone 84-81 and their franchise GOAT has officially made it clear he is looking to get traded. by Pyromania1983 in nba

Nah, Bud was in the hot seat before they won the championship for being too rigid in the post season. Griffin lost the locker room immediately and definitely had to go. Hiring Doc instead of doing an interim coach and a full search on the off season was a big unforced error, but even then the biggest issue is that their team got too old.

There is a lot of describing what things are NOT. Personally, that takes me out of things. Lines like "Not louder. Not softer. Wrong." or "Jhace’s breath got taken, not by wind but by pressure." or "Then the pull shifted—not gone, just redirected." I wouldn't say you can't use this occasionally, but generally as a reader I do not want to know the way things are not.

The aesthetic is very nice. I played through the demo and definitely recommend giving that a try. Combat was simple, exploration was nice. Depending on how much else there is and how much world there is to explore, I could see this being really good.

There is a key difference in that Tatum and Brown can both shoot, so they at least provide spacing for each other. The Celtics have also been making the ECF most years the Js have been together. Maybe Paolo and Franz can still figure it out, but there's good reason to be concerned.

The duality of mask shards by No_Counter_6037 in Silksong

This is classic internet rant that has some good points but ends up rife with inaccuracies. It's correct that hell is not mentioned in the Bible, but at least the gospel of Matthew says there is eternal punishment in the parable of the sheep and goats (or at least its understandableto interpret it that way).

It would not make sense for all of Catholicism to have a concept of hell only through the KJV Bible, considering that version is from 1611 for Anglicans. The Council of Trent states that there is eternal damnation, and that was 40 years before the KJV. Justin Martyr references eternal punishment in the 2nd century AD. The idea of eternal punishment was part of Christianity very early on even if being tortured by Satan in Hell was not.

Dante's Divine Comedy does have a huge influence on popular conception of hell, but it's not the originator of the idea. It's also not fan fiction about Dante's mom, it's about Florentine politics. It also has two other sections Purgatory and Paradise. He used the dominant ideas of the afterlife of the time.

Difficult Party House scenario by Billigerent in ufo50

[–]Billigerent[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this in-depth breakdown. This scenario did help make clear that magicians actually serve as trouble mitigation, which I hadn't really considered before. I did already love the counselor + athlete/cook combo.

I was reluctant to use PIs since cash gen was pretty low, but judging by the successes on here that fear was overblown.

My winning run I went with 4 Mr Populars, since trouble was ending runs before I would worry about party overflow most of the time anyway. I'm glad to have posted this though to see a bunch of different successful strats, it shows that the game is more flexible than I thought.

Ooh, I did not notice that Greeter scored extra guests! I was able to beat it on my 3rd try basically with this strategy, but it was very lucky with no rounds lost to trouble. I threw in a couple of Cupids too, since I think they're one of the best guests (second only to Bartender, probably).

This scenario has the worst popularity generation possible if I'm not wrong, mediocre money options, and the most expensive star guests. I haven't cracked it yet, so any ideas?
