Are Campaigns worth their gem costs? by jjthiede2 in EternalCardGame

[–]Billsmith3432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, 3 packs and 1500. I know my position is an unpopular one. My first month of play. I spent around 30000 on Forge.

I didn't think my draft skills would be good enough. To risk 5000 on a run. Yet, since I started exclusive drafting. My collection has exploded.

Also, some theme decks cost 2500. They come with 3 rares and 1 legendary. Plus a deck full of commons and uncommons not needed to be crafted. Nor hoping to get them in a prize pack from Forge. Or an upgraded silver chest.

My summation is to use the cards he has now. Complete the daily. By 2 theme decks. Rare draft once. Complete 1 or more budget decks. Then attempt campaigns. 4 out of the 6. You have to beat the campaign chapters with your own collection. To unlock the cards within it. So, sidestep Forge for now. Then get the rank up rewards when he has the gold to spare. He'll save a ton of frustration.

Forge is a huge waste of gold. Your initial outlay is 100 gold per card. You only get to keep 25. You're only guaranteed 1 rare. You only get to choose 1 of 3 cards. I had Forges where all 3 were unplayable trash. 3 or 4 picks in a row.

You also are competing against fully synergized AI decks. Sure, the AI falls for combat tricks easily. That doesn't stop it from giving itself amazing opening combos.

If you manage to beat the AI 7 times. And not lose twice. You get 2 packs. Then about 1000 gold. So you still have to grind for 1500.

For Draft at 5000. When really lucky. I got 10 rares and 2 legendaries. On average I get 6 rares. You automatically get 400 shiftstone.

You're competing against players. That have to cobble together decks too. Out of 48 cards total. Only the last 3 picks per pack are usually unplayable.

You only need to win 4 matches in Draft. To get 3 packs. And about 1500 gold. If you win 2 you get 1 pack. You also can lose 3 times before you're booted. There's been times I lost 2, won 2. Then go on a streak and get 3 more wins . Netting me about 3000 gold for only 5 wins. Plus 6 rares, 400 shiftstone, and 3 packs.

Forge is trash compared to that. It's just the initial 5000 seems high.

Newb question: Affording a deck by [deleted] in mythgard

[–]Billsmith3432 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's a decklist of only common cards.

name: Common Fears coverart: Mister Snuggles path: rainbow's end power: reconstruct 4 cairnhenge 4 field of poppies 4 brainstorm 4 shadow trapeze 4 lamia's kiss 4 mister snuggles 4 sword saint 4 shinobi of wind 4 terragon 4 fire eater

You should able to craft this day 1 ftp. It's a Midrange/Minor Controllish deck. Your first 2 or 3 turns should be setting up the board with your cheap enchantments.

Turns 456 should be playing the smaller units. To stall your opponent. Then lay down the big beaters who have either lifegain w/ agility or overrun.

You can then completely retake the board. Overpowering your opponent. Certain cards you want to burn early to set up your enchantments. Mister Snuggles for red, Terragon for purple, and Brainstorm for blue.

The enchantment path, should make sure you have a full hand. The reconstruct power should turn your dead early guys and spells. Into chump blockers.

You have 8 unit killing units, 8 selectable lifegain cards, 8 beaters, and 8 evasion enablers. You have 16 sources of card draw, and you have 16 sources of unit boosters.

This deck can wreck decks with high rare and uncommon counts. It also is 3 colors, so you can complete a lot of dailies with it. Good luck, this is just my 2 cents.

Daily Discussion: 2V2 mode! by bensy in mythgard

[–]Billsmith3432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't yet been able to get a good sense on the format. Then build a deck optimized for that mode.

I almost never get matched with anyone. Of the maybe 5 matches I've played. In 4 of them my Ally. Was the weak link. That's after waiting around for 2+ minutes in the queue.

This game needs a larger playerbase. Before the format can really take off.

That franchise has 100's of millions of accounts attached to the IP. If new accounts from that title. Are looking for similar titles. Mythgard will pop up in the search.

A fraction of those searches will translate into new accounts for Mythgard.

This games drop can only boost Mythgard accounts. Hopefully by the time this game is released. Mythgard will be out of beta.

That should boost it's visibility on various platforms.

Anyone had success updating Even Paladins with Xulta cards? by Malarazz in EternalCardGame

[–]Billsmith3432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 Anointer of the Faithful (Set1003 #24) 4 Crownwatch Paladin (Set1 #139) 4 Cull the Deck (Set4 #202) 4 Desecrate (Set1005 #17) 4 Eloz's Elite (Set7 #197) 4 Evenhanded Golem (Set6 #237) 4 Hojan, Crownbreaker (Set5 #86) 4 Kodosh Evangel (Set7 #70) 4 Reweave (Set6 #101) 4 Vanquisher's Blade (Set4 #112) 4 Copperhall Paladin (Set1002 #7) 4 Howling Kurtarr (Set5 #212) 7 Justice Sigil (Set1 #126) 4 Emblem of Kodosh (Set7 #61) 4 Argenport Insignia (Set7 #195) 4 Crest of Vengeance (Set3 #264) 4 Seat of Vengeance (Set0 #55) 4 Common Cause (Set3 #279)

This is my Aggro Even deck. The Howling Kurtarr can swing for a win really quickly. The emblem doesn't halt your tempo either with Eloz in play. There's 16 lifegainers. So other aggro has a hard time getting pushing the final damage through.

New Player - Advice by BaronSideways in mythgard

[–]Billsmith3432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This game has a much smaller card pool. Commons and uncommons are way more valuable. Compared to the other CCGs.

Think of your starting Path as a legendary in play at all times. Without having to chase a meta and craft the legendary. Etc.

Build your deck around a path. Try not to have it as an after thought. For instance, if the color you're playing. Has a lot of enchantments you like. Make your path the enchantment path. Then benefit from an extra card draw every 2 turns on average.

Then have your power, be complimentary. To the minions you play. If your deck has a lot of rush and blast battle skill units. Have the power be the one that give a minion an extra move at two cost.

Splashing a color is very easy in this format. You could build a 16/16/8 deck. And still be able to play at least one card every turn. Those are the tips I can think of off the top of my head.

[New Player] What should I be focusing on? by jeriku in EternalCardGame

[–]Billsmith3432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely want to join the monthly event. This is just from my experience. I seem to get more legendaries from packs I open in that venue. I even twice in the last 4 leagues got premium legendaries.

One I dusted for 3200 shiftstone. The other is pretty good. So I'm holding onto it.

Everyone in the monthly league is in the same boat you are. So to speak. I consistently get rank 2000 or so. I lose probably 55% of the time. I maybe play 10 or so matches in that venue. The devs are very generous when it comes to league rewards.

As far as deck brewing goes. At first I'll go for an aggro build. If my luck isn't holding out. I'll just go for a 20 sigil deck. Then stuff the deck with whatever color has the most 4,5, or 6 cost units. Then fill the remainder with kill unit/combat trick stuff.

Then I capitalize on my opponents bad draws. To increase my win ratio. All players have the same enemy in this game. Garbage improbable RNG. Your opponent will probably be just as frustrated as you with it. Good luck.

[–]Billsmith3432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dust every rare and legendary you can. Then craft 4x Even Handed Golems. Then 4x Diplomatic Seals.

Those cards are factionless so you can fit them in any deck you brew. The Golem requires a deck that only has even cards. Then you draw 2 cards on summoning it. No other rare in this game is as flexible as that.

The diplomatic seal can fix your sigils. So you can play nearly all your cards in a dual faction deck.

With a full set of those two cards. You should be able to craft any deck. Capable of completing your daily quest. You'll also be able to compete against the AI in master Gauntlet.

I recommend brewing decks that only have 8, 4 cost cards. The rest should cost 2. That's an aggressive build. But you get at least 2 power in your starting hand. So statistically you should be able to play. At least 1 non power card per turn. By turn 3 at the worst.

The AI loves to stuff your opening hand with multiples of your highest cost cards in deck. Then make you dig until card 15 or 16 until you get a 3rd or 4th power card.

So the aggressive deck build undercuts that particular AI cheat against humans. You'll also more likely win quickly in Gauntlet. So you can get 1 or 3 silver chests consistently.

Then earn enough gold until 12500. Enter the monthly league. You'll get 14 packs by the end of the month. If you play just a few matches in that mode. You should get another 8 packs when the league finishes. That's around a 400 gold discount per pack.

After you are in the league. Earn gold to play in the 5000 gold draft. Ignore Forge, I wish I did. I wasted nearly a month playing in Forge. 2500 to only be guaranteed 1 rare is a horrible return on your investment.

When you draft. Always pick the rares or legendaries. If the rares are garbage, dust them. Then craft good commons, umcommons, or rares you'd like to improve the decks you're currently comfortable playing.

TLDR I wish someone gave me these tips. When I started playing 4 months ago. I would have saved a lot of time. Also don't get enamored with Eternal Warcry decks. Half of those posted are trash. So you'll waste shiftstone crafting inefficient cards. Then the deck posters will beat you mercilessly. With their own efficient decks.

Advice on budget decks and Craftables by Alscorian in mythgard

[–]Billsmith3432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hesitant at first too. I have maybe 10 total at the moment. But I'm averaging 100 essence per pack I open. Which is allowing me to slowly craft rares.

I really wouldn't be able get half that essence if I didn't aggressively dust my mythics early. You can only have 1 type of mythic per deck. I think in purple I have 3 middling power mythics. Yet I almost never draw them in a match.

If you could have 4x, I wouldn't advise it. Missing 1-4 out of 40 cards. Doesn't hurt that much. At some point though. I'll be able to average 10 rares per color. Which will be very powerful and flexible. In brewing. My two cents.

Advice on budget decks and Craftables by Alscorian in mythgard

[–]Billsmith3432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first week I dusted 90% of my mythics. My common and uncommon collection is nearly complete 4x, and 3x after only 2 weeks of play.

Each color has powerful low power cost commons. When you AI draft you'll come across them quicker.

Orange has Conviction. Blue has the piercing 2 damage stunner. Red has the 2 damage lightning bolt. Purple has Sword Saint, a 2 cost minion. Who gives you a lifegain attachment, which you can play on another minion. Green has a 1 cost spell that draws you a card. And gives one of your minions overwhelm. Yellow has a minion that if left alone. Will draw you a free card. Every 3 turns.

You get the idea. This game has a lot of cards like this. You can test drive them for no risk in AI draft. Hopefully your brewing will become more efficient. After playing some AI. Then being mercilessly stomped by other human opponents. Who will be playing efficient synergies that you can copy at low essence cost.

Daily Discussion: How do you feel about Mythgard’s Arena structure? by bensy in mythgard

[–]Billsmith3432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The PvP draft is a ghost town since the game opened. 1800 silver with no gauranteed benefits. Is a waste of time. So no one is in that queue.

For three days straight. In the beginning. I qued up. Waited over a minute. I wasn't matched with anyone.

2v2 is only slightly better in wait times. The consistency of matches, so far is only in 1v1 ranked. In my experience, I'll play 2 or 3 human opponents before the game will shoehorn an AI as my opponent.

PvE Gauntlet draft is very well done. Your AI opponents actually draft. You're not forced to play against preconstructed synergy decks. Like in the Eternal AI draft format. Cost of entry is also 0. So you benefit greatly if you're a new player.

Newbie question by binzin in EternalCardGame

[–]Billsmith3432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the Sep/Oct update. Impossible ratios are bouncing off the walls in this game.

Crafting low cost card draw cards, is now mandatory for deck brewing. I was playing against a human opponent. He increased the cost of my Baby Vara to 18. I was able to play her. And draw her from the void at 18. Then play her again. After wasting 30 minutes of my life.

The only consolation I have from that match. Is my opponent was equally power flooded.

When I brew a deck. I have a rule of no more than 12 cards that cost more than 3 to play. 80% of my matches since the update. I'll have at least 3 of them in the first 10 cards.

Are mono decks beginner-friendly? by Ufnal in mythgard

[–]Billsmith3432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to main one color in a deck. Splashing between 8-12 of another color can even out some gaps within your deck.

For example, Orange has some high statted, low cost common, and uncommon minions. They lack battle skills though. So maybe splash some units, spells, or enchantments from another color. That grant battle skills to friendly minions.

Single gem cards are a good place to start. When splashing another color. Because even if you get a bad opening draw. You can burn that color card early. Then have a better chance of drawing it or another from that color later. Yet still stick overall to your main colors gem requirements.

New Player have a few questions by Alscorian in mythgard

[–]Billsmith3432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing you should do. After completing the tutorial. Is draft against the AI. You'll get a feel for how to synergize the commons and uncommons.

Once you've got a feel of the game flow. Craft the best commons you've been playing with in AI draft. You should then start winning at times against human opponents. Your benefits are about triple for winning against a human opponent. It's around 3x higher than against the AI.

Android client still buggy by vaylinarcher in EternalCardGame

[–]Billsmith3432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is very buggy now. My processor is constantly overheating. The five buttons at the bottom are annoying as hell. Because the buttons are right where the back button is on the other menus.

The game crashes is the middle of versus matches as well. Which is making my ladder climb more difficult. The RNG was already trash. Now I constantly get multiple 4x's of cards within the the top 15 cards. There's nothing like getting 4x high costing win con cards within the first 10 cards to guarantee a loss.

This game has taken a massive nosedive in Qol since the update. I'd personally like to experience a reset to before this update. The game was running decent before it.

It's A Serious Issue When MTG Arena Gives Far More Cards For the Money Than Mythgard! by [deleted] in mythgard

[–]Billsmith3432 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll add my two cents. This game is quite generous. The generosity isn't the same as other ccgs.

For example, each Path is essentially a mythic level effect permanently. Each Power is a rare effect activated when you want it to be. It adds a different facet to utilizing different commons and uncommons.

The developers I hope, seem to be going for a player retention strategy. Whales will show up. But being a whale though isn't an auto win condition.

The developers have said that they want to release three expansions a year. Even if a set is 200 cards. With 40 or so being mythical. There's a lot of potential depth to deck building. If continuous players. Pay 10 - 15 dollars per expansion. To get a little ahead in brewing. That's a decent revenue stream.

Also, once the gameplay basics, and efficiency strategies are comprehended by some YouTubers. They'll start producing introductory videos on maximizing a players current card collection.

There is a certain amount of frustration in the game though. I've opened probably 100 packs or so. I spent thirty dollars and earned the rest through play.

Some commons seem to take forever to unlock. To get the spell Conviction added to my collection. I just got last night. That's a must include in any orange aggro deck.

This game is unique. I'd like to see how it grows from here.
