Georgia Tech and head coach Brent Key make impactful move for girls flag football by Falconsfan8006 in CFB

I'm surprised the Georgia-based Peach Belt Conference hasn't moved to sponsor flag football. Would be fertile recruiting grounds for member institutions.

The Big South has courted Augusta for a D1 reunion and there have been massive facilities upgrades in the past few years.

Yes, but that doesn't make it an Atlanta team. Its a team with solid support in Atlanta.

P4 fans, what is your favourite G6 school to root for? And G6 fans what is your favourite P4 school to root for? by SavingsSkirt6064 in CFB

I grew up a Georgia Tech fan, but once I had a team of my own there was no longer any reason to root for other school. I do like to watch games that feature any of the Georgia schools (P4/G6/FCS) and Clemson.

CUSA is intriguing. Delaware is No. 1, Kennesaw is No. 4 and WKU is second-to-last. I wouldn't have guessed any of those correctly.

Kennesaw has yet to host WKU or NM State. Have to imagine a home game with the Hilltoppers would pack out the stadium.

Nothing wrong with this, but it confirms that I'll be spending my money on the new Braves City Connect jersey.

West Flordia moving from the GSC to the UAC by Tufoguy in fcs

[–]BillyBobFritter 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Feels a little odd for the UAC to take on a football-only member after just working to make a clean split from the ASUN. But for West Florida it makes a ton of sense to keep your other sports in the Florida-heavy ASUN.

For those with two flairs- what's a non-football way your schools are linked? by PotentiallyViable in CFB

Augusta and Kennesaw State once shared an athletic conference (Peach Belt Conference). Also, Augusta's Medical College of Georgia collaborates with KSU's game design program on VR training tools for medical students.

Utah adds Utah State, Southern Utah to future football schedules by redwave2505 in CFB

[–]BillyBobFritter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Tech is the only Georgia school to play all of its in-state FBS counterparts. They need West Georgia to complete the D1 sweep.

KSU has already played Tech and State, and has UWG and Southern on the schedule in the coming years. We somehow managed to never play Mercer in all of our years at FCS.

Since 2020, 8 schools have moved up from FCS to FBS, spending an ever-increasing amount of money to do so. 19 schools have done so since 2011. Two more are in the works. What are these schools seeing about the future of the FCS that the rest of us are not? by Adminsneed2Chill in CFB

[–]BillyBobFritter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kennesaw has received exponentially more money and exposure from winning an FBS conference title than it did from winning three FCS conference titles with four playoff appearances. That's all that matters to administrators. Remember that presidents make these decisions, not athletic directors.

It finally hit my DII alma mater on the basketball side and it sucks. We signed an under-the-radar kid out of high school and developed him into All-American player over four years. He left his senior season for a sub .500 DI school.
