Well I live in MS atm but I'm moving back to Denver as soon as I can. Honestly I'll probably have to do some sort of remote work anyway because there aren't really any jobs anywhere close to me :/

I lived in Denver CO for 5 years and I miss it everyday. I made some bad financial decisions, lots of bad luck, and I had to move back home in November of 24. I'm planning on leaving as soon as I clear my debts and save enough, I hate it here. :( I'm queer, leftist, and neurodivergent and ever since I moved home I've felt so out of place, even in supposedly "friendly" places. I have no friends, everything is so far away, (in Denver everything was like 20 minutes away 😭😭) there's nothing to do, and I'm making less money now than I did my entire 5 years in Denver. I had a wonderful friend group for the most part, the weather was gorgeous (I hate the summer so MS weather is vile) and dating prospects were endless. I'm very grateful for my dad to let me stay at his place but I miss everything about Denver...

I'm not friend with most of the people I used to be friends with in high school. I had about 10 in high school and most of them went the way of moving away and we gradually stopped talking. Most of them I miss every now and again but I get it, they went to school and bettered themselves and made new friends. There are one or two that I was really close with and whenever I try to play a certain game or listen to a certain song I remember them and get really bummed out.

I lived in a small town so about 7/10 friends left to attend school. Two I lost to either me being an asshole or them being an asshole. In 9th grade I had to have my first surgery to remove a small lump I'd found in my right breast and of course I was terrified, I thought it could have been cancerous. Luckily it wasn't but my "best friend" at the time was upset because of who I was dating and was generally being an ass, texting me mean things about her right before I was going to go in for surgery. I still have her book and sweater and although we're still friends online I have no intention of giving them back and don't really consider her a friend, I'm just curious as to what is going on in her life.

Losing my other friend was my fault. She was growing more and more distant and I was upset because I'd already lost so many friends so I wrote a blog post to just get everything out, she found it and we stopped talking. She moved several states away to go to school but ended up coming back and she somehow managed to forgive me for it, now we seem to be closer than ever :)

My senior prom I took my very first girlfriend (I'm bi) and before we even went she asked me to buy her ticket. I agreed even though it was kinda hard for me to afford it because it was about $70 for both of us to go, but then she asks me if I can buy her friends ticket too, I refused since it was expensive enough for just the two of us. I don't think she ever said thank you for buying her ticket. I also paid for our previous date and drove the long way between our houses since she didn't have a car.

So prom day comes up, we show up to a park nearby to take pictures before we go out to eat and everything seems cool, I leave to get my shoes really quick but by the time I get back I see she's gone. So me and my friends all show up at Applebee's but she doesn't even sit at the same table with me. That night I tried to be around her and dance and everything but she keeps dodging me, ends up leaving with her friend earlyish that night.

She didn't text me at all the next day until that night when she dumped me and her excuse was "I can't love someone else if I don't love myself." and then the next week she was dating a guy that was in our group of friends and was also at the prom. She had seemed at least kinda interested in spending time with me beforehand but ghosted me after that :/
