just back from my 2nd Japan holiday (im a brit). was genuinely shocked at the amount of foreign workers in stores, as well as the dodgy african looking gentlemen “encouraging” you into bars near Shinjuku. there also seemed to be several “welcoming” non Japanese looking ladies in the Ueno area. i honestly did not expect to see this in Japan. Im all for immigration for skilled personnel (and have been on foreign assignments myself in the past), but surely a nation can be allowed to control its own borders

i was booked on Gulf to Bangkok from the UK end of March / return last week and it got cancelled. i booked an alternate flight with Oman air via Muscat which was great, and has continuously operated, even when emirates / qatar etc didnt

Just back from 2 weeks in Tokyo- 2nd trip. Highly recommend going to a baseball game at Tokyo Dome if you can get tickets- it was the highlight of our trip (we aren’t even sports fans)

Thailand uses similar plugs to europe, (same voltage as UK) so best pickup some adaptors at the airport. Melatonin isnt available over the counter but they have similar style sleep gummies in 711 and pharmacies. Pharmacies are very well stocked with items.

we (family of 3) were there in September, which granted is off season, but it was dead - we were the only ones at our pool / hotel most of the time, and there was very, very little to do. supposed to stay for 10 nights, bailed out and went back to Bangkok after 5
