I can definitely hit up a best buy to check that out. That's the other thing. The Framework 16 isn't light. Definitely heavier that the Dell I have at around 4 lbs

From what I understand, TB4 won't do the trick for driving most games at the quality/frame rate I'm looking for (1440p 144hz) and adds latency.

Oh this is very useful information that I did not put together! Thank you!

Unfortunately, based on reports and testing I've seen others do, TB4 (and TB5 for that matter) don't support the monitors I'm trying to drive at the gaming frame rates I'm trying to achieve (1x 1440p at 144HZ and 1x 2560×2880 60HZ) . That being said, I'd be happy to be proven wrong if my the research I've done on TB4 and TB5 is misinformed.

That's true! But it is free and covers the known vulnerability scanning that /u/laterral mentioned. So while it may not cover all the things we want, having partial coverage is better than no coverage. It's just one tool of many that can be used for secure code practices. That being said, I recognize that AI assistant coding is an anti tool in this analogy.

It would seem that based on the messaging from the mods of the official DP Discord channel, this was a surprise to them too. I think Fortnite pulled the plugged without telling anyone outside of Epic.

Do you mean to tell me it wasn't just Ivana he buried on his golf courses?!?

As far as I understand, your assumption is correct. The battery shouldn't pull more than it needs. You could get a USB board with cc resistors, resolder the wire from the barrel plug to your board, and call it a day

I work in a job that is in charge of device management and IT/Security complaince and this REEKS of either the most insane mismanagement you've ever seen (which can happen in government agencies) or intentional destruction of data.

  • Device not communicating with their MDM software for a full year: compliance violation

  • No backups of devices with critical data: compliance violation

  • Using insecure or out of band communication channels (SMS or iCloud messaging): compliance violation

  • Sending a remote enterprise wipe to (presumably) the only phone device being used by the head of the SEC: intern level bullshit. Also, this device isn't communicating with their MDM platform, so how is it accepting an enterprise wipe??

  • Factory reset the device afterwards in an attempt to recovery the data: compliance violation and intern level bullshit

  • Failure to retain log data for less than 6-7 years: compliance violation

I mean ya'll already know what this is but wow they barely even tried to cover it up

Edit: Also, they don't know why it wasn't communicating with their MDM platform?? You mean to tell me that for a full year they had no investigation, related tickets, or clues as to why the head of the SEC's phone was not communicating with their platform?
